What I want to know is who made the call on that last play for the Patriots? Carroll or Bevell? I know Carroll is owning it, but he has to in his position. Still an amazing read by Butler. That's something you can see from watching film and listening to your coaches, but he still had the instincts to put it on the field. Spectacular reaction.

Great game last night, I picked the Seahawks before the game but it was still a really fun game to watch.

Probably one of the worst years for commercials I can remember in a long while in my opinion. I only remember a few as being great (Snickers, eSurance with Walter White, and the lost puppy one from Budweiser). The Liam Neeson one was pretty funny too.

But the Budweiser one that made fun of craft beers was just pathetic lol. Especially consider they have been buying out microbreweries left and right for years, including one last week (Elysian) that literally brews the EXACT same beer they made fun of in the commercial, the Pumpkin Peach Ale.

I about lost it when I saw Steve Buscemi come from upstairs in that Snickers commercial haha. I don't think most of my friends had a clue what The Brady Bunch even was but I thought it was hilarious.

The Budweiser puppy definitely was the best of the bunch.

Overnight ratings have the game getting a 49.7 rating, topping the 49ers-Ravens for the highest-rated Super Bowl. Total viewers will be announced later today and it would be a shock if it doesn't end up as the most-watched Super Bowl.

Falcons Hired Dan Quinn

Quote:

Falcons hired Dan Quinn as head coach.

It's a five-year deal. The Falcons had their eyes set on Quinn from the start of this whole hiring process, and Quinn reportedly preferred the Atlanta job over any other. It's a wonderful hire, and Quinn should immediately begin turning around what has been a truly awful defensive unit in recent seasons. Kyle Shanahan has already been hired to coordinate the offense. Now, GM Thomas Dimitroff and fellow personnel man Scott Pioli need to inject some talent into the roster.

Sounds about right! There seemed to be more hype than usual, for this game. Arguably the two best teams were representing their conferences, and they both delivered down to the final seconds. Very entertaining!

Seahawks fans.... I've been there and done that.... with Tony Romo and the Cowboys --- not in a Super Bowl, but a playoff game nevertheless. BTY, you will NEVER get over that Wilson throw! Yes, it may fade some over time, but it will NEVER go away. You got it for Life Baby ! !

I'll bet Jason Garret would say he would have called the same play, and Tony Romo would have thrown the same pick. But when the Cowboys **** up, the entire world piles on. Well, that just goes with the territory...

Passing on short yardage instead of running it and having it blow up in epic fashion is something the Cowboys do way too often. Think it happened in the loss to the Packers for a big sack.

If that play happened in a Cowboys game Romo would get ripped non-stop by the media. When Wilson made the play everyone blamed the coach and offensive coordinator.

I was fully expecting sports radio to call out Pete Carroll's idiotic play call today. I was sorely mistaken. After listening to a few stations before and on the way to work the majority of sports talk hosts were defending Carroll's call as "bold" and "gutsy." One host (forget his name) actually called Carroll's play call "a stroke of genius that wasn't executed properly by Rusell Wilson." I felt like smashing my radio.

Snowing heavily in Boston, near blizzard conditions. A 747 with family of the Patriots on it was diverted to JFK according to Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel. He said the Patriots may not get back to Boston until 7pm tonight.

It was a terrible play call, but Wilson's pass was awful. He threw the ball in the worst location with how the Patriots were positioned.

This is the classic Hero/Zero play call. He's a Hero if it works, a Zero if it doesn't. Hind sight will always be 20/20. Like Carroll said they were playing for 3rd, and possibly, 4th down. So they tried to go against conventional thinking and the New England defender made an amazing INT.
Personally I don't think anyone is at fault, it was just two great teams going down to the wire and one(New England) just happened to make a better play.
So if he handed it off and Lynch fumbles, is he vindicated? Nope they still lose the game. I thought it was a great call, as I was already checking the time/time outs for NE after Lynch had scored. LOL.

No it's not. Even if the play worked it was a poor play call. All game the Pats knew Seattle was going to give the ball to Lynch to run right up the middle countless times and he was making solid yardage. There were the only plays that made any sense whatsoever.

1. Give it to Lynch to Lynch to punch it in.
2. Option play for Wilson as he is very good on the scramble and could have run it in.

They were on the 1 yard line for crying out loud.
