Are you really so committed to your cause as to pretend that these are the same thing? Wow. Just wow.

1st question I said:

So in that sense, yeah he's the "Deflator" but not in the sneaky sneaky way everyone else is taking it. Just a thought.
In regards to your 2nd question: Brady did say he had no knowledge of the incidents and did not knowingly break any rules.

While not directed to me, it's clear the NFL's "independent" law firm does a bit of a cock-up on reports and reviews. I believe that's his point.

I may regret saying this, because I think Brady is 100% guilty, but if said "I didn't do anything", what would that change? Pats fan would believe him (like they do now), and everyone else would think he's lying (like they do now).

Like some player said, the Patriots would have beaten the Colts with a bar of soap.

Also, Kapernick said a flat football is not going to let you lose by 38 points.

The NFL has more serious issues to deal with than a flat football.

Can't wait the for the Patriots vs Colts game. I hope the Patriots drop a hundred points on the Colts.

And yes, I am a Patriots fan and a 49ers fan...no love here for the Peds, I mean Seahawks.

Exactly. His passer rating was higher in the second half of the game. The "deflated" (.5 lbs...) footballs had nothing to do with them beating the Colts.

It's just head-scratching to me that Winston is the NFL top draft pick and has lied multiple times over the grocery store theft (even to Gruden) and changed his story at minimum four times and has been accused of rape (I know he wasn't charged) yet Tom Brady is the devil for half a pound of air. The NFL's audacity to come out and say its punishment is in regards to the integrity of the game is the real joke and story here.

Please stop pretending that this is a one game issue, for the love of god.

The fact that they were aware to check ahead of time means that this was NOT some isolated incident. And you can find a lot of games which were close enough that something like this could have impacted the outcome.

Nobody will say it impacted that Colts game, but only a Pats fanatic can believe that this is isolated to that one game, and that they just happened to stumble upon the sole game where this ever occurred.

It's so weird to me that a total Strawman like this has become accepted as a good argument.

The thing is, I actually view Brady as a stand-up kind of guy.

The main reason I think he's guilty is because he refuses to point blank say he isn't. Denials all come through his lawyers, or through the Patriots organization, which says nothing.

I will change my opinion if the lawsuit comes. But I don't think for a second it will.

I feel the same about Winston. I was blown away at how lauded he was before the draft. I'm so glad the Titans were able to secure Mariota.
Time will tell which player was the better pick. But if it walks like a duck, and acts like a duck in College, can you imagine what that duck will be like with a bunch of money in the pros.

There's a reason Winston went #1. He's more NFL ready, he throws from within the pocket more, and he has a bigger arm and is more accurate than Mariota.

I hate to say that, but it's true... Mariota faces a HUGE adjustment to the NFL. And Whiz is a horrible coach for him IMO. It will be up to Whiz to be an innovative play caller, but I won't hold my breath. If he implements the right system and calls the right plays, Mariota could be like Russell Wilson for us. If Whiz is Whiz, Mariota doesn't have a chance.

I'm all aboard the Mariota hype train now that he's ours, but before the draft I didn't exactly have any high expectations for him unless he ended up with Chip Kelly.

That's all I've said since he entered the draft. If he has a Cam Newton-ish good ol' boy makeover I'd be shocked. I figure this will be some Vick/Rice/Manziel mash-up trainwreck.

I still think Jameis will be a very good QB. He's in a great situation with Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson as his main targets too. Sefarian-Jenkins could also be good.

I genuinely hope Jameis is horrible though. He's not a likable person, and I don't want to look back at the meaningless Jags game we won back in week 6 (by blocking Scobee's field goal as time expired) and think what could've been if we had just lost that game.

I'm afraid he'll end up being a stud though.

:locry:
Huge difference between using a person who has ties to the team to do an "independent investigation" compared to someone who has no ties to anything NFL related.

not even. Winston throws a lot of interceptions. Check out the QBRs also:
http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/qbr

Plus, just look at each of their respective performances in the Rose Bowl game.
Mariota dominated all aspects of that game and Winston folded under pressure and made a lot of questionable decisions throughout the game.
I think Winston's height is the only advantage he has over Mariota. Pocket presence is irrelevant when you have a tendency to throw passes inaccurately.

We got the good guy.

TDs/INTs don't tell the whole story... I closely evaluated both of them in the Rose Bowl game, and it was pretty clear that Winston was the better passer and more NFL ready.

Mariota is usually throwing to wide open receivers, while Winston has made many throws into tight windows. He did throw too many INTs, but anyone who knows football knows when your receiver drops a pass and it gets picked off, that's not on the QB. That happened twice in the Rose Bowl, I believe.

Mariota got away with several awful throws in the Rose Bowl... these throws were from within the pocket. Most of his yards were gained from passes thrown from outside the pocket to wide open receivers. Just saying... that stuff often doesn't translate to the NFL. Also Oregon's offense was based on quick reads. Mariota usually threw it to read #1. When he had to go through his progressions and look at other receivers, he struggled... this is throughout his entire career. He has a huge test ahead of him.

Winston's height? Mariota is the same height, if not taller. And once again, I promise you that Winston has a bigger arm and is more accurate than Mariota. Throw the stats away and watch them play. Mariota's completion percentage is misleading.

Winston's TDs went down and INTs went up due to more factors than just his performance... The team around him was nowhere near what it was in 2013... which is why in 2013 he threw 40 TDs to 10 INTs.

It's like everyone wants to completely throw away Winston's 2013 season and championship win and only focus on his off field shenanigans and the bad fumble against Oregon.

We got the good guy for sure... We don't have to worry about him off the field, and we know he'll never be a loose cannon. But if you're talking about the player who translates to the NFL better, it's Winston.

Since the Seahawks turned down his 5th year option, OLB Bruce Irvin says he will be a Falcon after this season.
