Jared Goff completed 11-of-24 passes for 90 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions and rushed twice for four yards Saturday in the Rams' Week 16 loss to the 49ers.
He was sacked four times for a loss of 12 yards. We’re now six games into the Jared Goff Era in Los Angeles. So far he’s had one good half. That half did not occur in Week 16. Goff was horrible from start to finish, slinging useless passes into tight coverage while again showing a baffling lack of awareness. He’s made zero progress since taking over the starting role. It’s no wonder Jeff Fisher waited two months before reluctantly handing him the reigns to the Rams’ broken offense. Goff made one nice play—a two-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Higbee off play-action—but that was about the only thing he did right on Saturday. After Los Angeles predictably blew a 14-point fourth quarter lead, Goff immediately ended the Rams’ comeback hopes by tossing a laughably misguided interception with 21 seconds remaining. Brian Quick was blanketed by Rashard Robinson on the play but Goff thought it would be a good idea to throw it there anyway. Goff will play the final game of his nightmare rookie seas

Kinda odd there were 3 QBs taken in the 1st round this year and 2 of them don't look pro-ready. Wentz is almost there, Prescott seems to have been the most ready and he was a 4th rounder. Connor Cook is the back-up in Oakland with Carr going down and the Jets' pick may never be ready. Bit early to say all of this but eh, talent tends to win out, unless you don't have it.

I think longterm Wentz and Prescott have excellent chances to be franchise quarterbacks. Goff hasn't shown me much.

Goff needs a lot of work, starting with building himself up to an NFL frame so he can stand in the pocket and take a hit. He has a LOT of mechanics issues though, which is why I couldn't believe he was being touted at the #1 overall pick. Then again as "bad" as this class was for QBs, it sounds like next year's is worse. At least 2 franchise QBs probably came out of this year's draft, which is more than you get most years.

You still have 3 really good runningbacks, an excellent OL, 2 great receivers and an opportunistic defense. If you're lucky you'll get a bye and at least you'll get to see your team playing in mid-January. That's much more than either of us thought we'd get this year. I saw Romo go down in pre-season and thought we were on our way to another 4-8 win season.

And now we've officially been eliminated. The scrub Texans get to win this division again. Well, enjoy another embarrassing one and done, Houston.

Next week's Texans @ Titans game had so much potential. It now means nothing and Mariota isn't even playing. I think this will be one of the rare games I simply choose to skip.

I used to be in the "never miss a game" camp, but once I missed a couple due to unavoidable life events, I could no longer say I had never missed a game. I didn't go to our finale last year against the Texans... which was smart because we were losing that game 34-0 late into the 4th.

I have zero issue skipping next week's game. The Texans have nothing to play for. We have nothing to play for. I honestly hope we lose at this point. If Mariota wasn't dead I would go next week and pull for us... because he's our future and every win he gets matters. What Cassel does in a meaningless game is... well... meaningless.

I can't go. This game was hyped up as a winner take all intense game. Now it means nothing and Cassel is starting for us. Lol I'm sure they'll rest some of their starters as well. Although I think they should play all their starters within reason to get a rhythm going with Savage.

One thing I know for sure... the Texans suck. Hope they get embarrassed again like last year's epic shutout. We were the best team in the division but let it slip away. Oh well... JRob (our GM) is going to get this sh*t fixed in the offseason. Inexcusably bad secondary we have. If you watch a Titans/Jags game you'd actually think Bortles is a legit top notch franchise QB. That's how bad our secondary is.

Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we went 7-3 outside our division with wins against the Lions, Dolphins, Packers, Broncos, and Chiefs. Yet we go 1-4 in our garbage division. What a waste.

Texans, enjoy it while you can now. Titans will be back next year to take over this division and expose the teams in this division for what they truly are - frauds.

Good news is the Rams lost... and they are giving us a top 6 draft pick. Just keep on losing, LA. Finish strong for us with another L next week.

Can't say I blame ya, although I could've sworn I heard during the Vikings game that the MNF game has no impact whatsoever on any play-off scenarios. So I guess you'll just be rooting for us to spite the Lions.

Wise words my friend. I predicted 7-9 this year about 300 pages back
