Connor Cook completed 18-of-45 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in the Raiders' 27-14, Wild Card loss to the Texans.
Yikes. Making his first career start as a fourth-round rookie, Cook never stood a chance in this one. He can really sling the ball, but Cook has no idea where it's going most of the time. He missed a ton of throws, throwing numerous hospital balls over the middle to his receivers. Cook's first interception was on a failed screen to the left where Jadeveon Clowney picked it off at the Oakland 10-yard line, setting Houston up for an easy touchdown. Cook's final two picks came in the fourth quarter, one on an overthrow over the middle to Amari Cooper and the other a pass well behind Andre Holmes. Cook's touchdown was a hookup with Holmes late in the game with the Raiders down by 20. It's a sad end to the Raiders' season that looked promising before Derek Carr suffered a broken leg in Week 16. Cook doesn't look to have a future as a starter in the league. His ceiling would likely be the No. 2 to Carr, who should be fine well in advance of training camp.
