Rumor has it that Garçon will get a multiyear deal from SF with $16mil this season!

Look like Capt Kirk will soon follow, which means Washington would get the #2 pick, at least.

So who on the Redskins is negotiating a potential trade for Cousins since it clearly isn't Washington's GM? In addition the Redskins are going to have to give the 49ers permission to negotiate a deal with Cousins since the Redskins can't trade Cousins until he signs the franchise tender and any potential trade would be contingent on the 49ers and Cousins agreeing to a long-term deal.

I'm guessing Bruce Allen is, in between leaking fake news stories.

I would assume Cousins wants, more than anything, to be reunited with Kyle Shanahan. Which might give SF a little bit of leverage in a long term deal. No matter what, Cousins will make more money than he has in his career. The thought of long term security with the bonus of Shanahan might too good to pass up over a few dollars.
Again, just my thoughts.

It'll be interesting to see though what SF would have to give in order to get Cousins. Shanahan and Lynch have 6 year deals, plenty of time to draft a QB and develop them.

Not too many teams have success when giving up the farm to get one guy..

I agree! Looking at it from Washington's point of view, if they get the #2 pick and say a 3rd or 4th, I would have to think they would be happy. Clearly they were never 100% happy with Cousins for whatever reason. As far as I can tell, they have no Plan-B in place, and their GM is AWOL.
This might just be the best move Washington makes?

He just restructured it meaning it probably won't be come fully guaranteed until next year. He will probably get 10-13 million just for this year and that way they can see if they wanna keep him. Win for both.
