You dont need to be in that situation to understand that the owners or the NFL for that matter does not give 2 shits about you as a fan. The fact that the owners can break these contracts and the players are out the money after they signed is ridiculous. The fact that the NFL takes money from our service to do the national parading of the vets onto the field should tell you everything you need to know about the owners and the overall organization.

Look at the situation last few years with the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders. The NFL and the organizations shit on those fans and chased the almighty dollar, despite how much profit they all make. They care nothing about you as a fan the same goes for any sports organization.

I strongly disagree with your feelings on this issue. If the players want more guaranteed money in their contracts, that is something they need to bring to the table in the next CBA negotiations.

I believe the owners are very well aware how important the fans are to the sport. I’ve never felt disrespected or undervalued as a fan, and I’ve been a diehard sports fan for essentially my entire life.

I don’t necessarily like the guaranteed contracts we are seeing. Too much risk involved.

I just don't see how guaranteed contracts would work. I understand the stars getting guaranteed contracts, though they'd likely be more like three year deals for everyone but QBs, but what about the fringe players? Right now each team contains 90 players and only 53 of those players are going to make the regular season roster so what do you do for the other 37 guys?

Browns coach Hue Jackson doesn't expect Baker Mayfield to get many first-team reps in training camp.

"Tyrod Taylor is the starter," said Jackson. "I don’t envision any situation where all of a sudden (Mayfield’s) getting a bunch of first-team reps unless something happens." It confirms what Cleveland has been saying all offseason. The Browns are committed to Taylor as their Week 1 starter, but Mayfield could shorten the leash with a strong preseason.

Romo chose the Cowboys over the Broncos despite the Broncos offering $20,000 and the Cowboys offering $10,000. Guess he really liked Sean Payton.

Julio Jones and the Falcons have agreed on a contract adjustment, ensuring Jones will report to training camp on time.

There will be no holdout. Jones had fallen to the bottom of the ten highest-paid wide receivers after three seasons into his latest deal, and got his desired raise after finishing second in the NFL in receiving yards. Julio has incredibly topped 1,400 yards in four straight years. Behind Antonio Brown, he is squarely in the mix to be this year's No. 2-drafted wideout along with Odell Beckham and DeAndre Hopkins. The entire Falcons offense is primed for positive TD regression.

I don't understand how the Jets haven't got a deal done with Sam Darnold yet. The value of the deal is set, it's going to be a 4-year deal worth $30.5 million, so the only negotiation is about the signing bonus (how much and the payment schedule) and whether the deal has offset language, which will only come into play if Darnold is horrible and gets cut before the end of his 4-year deal. Those are both fairly minor points and will likely get resolved quickly but both sides should have had a greater sense of urgency to get this done so Darnold wouldn't be missing valuable time in camp.

The fact that they're open to trading Bridgewater (per Rotoworld) tells me Darnold's deal is pretty much done.

We’re going to bring him along slowly. Probably a similar plan to Mahomes last year.

I don't think fully guaranteed contracts will ever become a norm, nor should they. But a higher percentage of players' money being guaranteed makes sense to me. Especially since coaches' contracts are guaranteed, and some of these deadbeats get to cash checks for years after they run a franchise into the ground and get fired.

Just wait until Jeff Fisher gets hired again.

Garrett is worse than Jeff Fisher.

Fisher may have a better resume overall due to the Super Bowl berth but he didn't make the playoffs his last 6 seasons as a head coach and didn't win a playoff game in his last 11 seasons. At least Garrett has made the playoffs twice in the last 4 seasons and has a playoff win.

Garrett no longer has Romo, Ware and Witten to lead the Cowboys. Time will tell how long the team will play for him if post-season success continues to elude them.
