A lot of MVP discussion is between Mahomes and Brees.

First, Mahomes is definitely the leader as of right now. I don't think Brees should be a candidate this season (despite how well he has played!). Secondly, I think it is a shame that Brees has never won MVP in his career.

And lastly, I do think there's another QB that should be discussed more as a MVP candidate. Phillip freakin' Rivers.

I won my fantasy semis this week 71.72-65.52. I averaged 125.15 during the regular season and the guy I played averaged 115, and neither of us scored less than 90 in any week. 16 of the 18 players in our lineups scored less than their projections. I guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I think Rivers gets it if the Chargers win the division, but there's also a great narrative around Brees never having won one. If he can turn it up the last couple of games (assuming he even plays significant minutes in Week 17), then maybe he'll still get it regardless. I have a feeling Mahomes has dwindled a bit recently, but the way his career looks, he'll have plenty of other seasons to win it.

Did it because my cousins needed an extra guy and we'd never been in a league together. Ended up only playing them once each at the end of the season, so it was pointless anyway (went 1-1 against them).

He was. Check the stats. He was also in the running for MVP during the first half of the season. His surgically-repaired shoulder has just not held up. You can see him struggle and his performance diminish as the season (and his shoulder) wore on.
