From Zak Keefer who covers the Colts for The Athletic:

Physical toll on Andrew Luck through 6 NFL seasons:
» Torn cartilage in 2 ribs
» partially torn abdomen
» a lacerated kidney that left him peeing blood
» at least 1 concussion
» a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder
» and this mysterious calf/ankle issue that led to this

It's still a shock to see someone retire at 29, but dude has been through a lot...

Andrew Luck has left football to be 100% with his new family (baby on the way).

Well, there was a healthy contingent of them booing Luck as he walked off the field tonight.

Not surprised, in the least. I've learned to just not expect much from sports fans these days.

Shocking news. Wish Luck the best. Best to leave the game with your health relatively intact.

Can't believe they booed him. Colts fans didn't deserve Luck.

Hope the Colts/Luck can figure out who leaked it. He didn’t deserve that kind of ambush.

I have never liked the Colts as a team, nor their idiotic owner. Sucks for Luck though, you don’t want anyone to go out like that. I don’t blame him though.

Colts fans prove once again last night why most NFL fan bases are *******s and why teams dont really care when they piss them off ala leaving the city like the Oakland or St Louis.

Luck's body was never made to withstand the punishment of playing in the NFL. Jacoby Brissett for 16 games means they will probably try to trade for a better option over the next few days.

I think they are going to roll with Brissett and see how far he can take them for this season.

Brissett is not a bad backup option, most teams would be lucky to have someone like him as a last-second starter. A lot of the so-called pundits are already writing off the Colts' chances this season but I still think that division is pretty wide open.

It’s a really well coached team. They will still be a playoff team.

Does he deserve a pay raise? Most def he does, BUT he still has 2 years left on his deal, he should've done this after this season. Jerry should pay Dak, (I know he's looking for a new deal as well) least he's handling this like an adult and not like a crybaby.

Honestly I don't understand why people are ripping those fans in the moment. Most of them that are at the preseason game are likely season ticket holders who spent a shit load of money for all those games. They did that knowing Andrew Luck was their QB and they were going to be a good team. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere he retired.

I would imagine even today they might feel a little different but I sure as heck would have been pissed off in that moment.

Tom Brady able to last 20 seasons cause he's had good protection.

These teams with bad olines only going to get their QB killed.

Imagine booing a player that gave himself a lacerated kidney trying to win football games for you.
