Well he has kind of damaged his rep in his own locker room after sunday. That "No" comment didn't sit well at all with his teammates and i think that is why his coach had a change of heart yesterday setting the stage for Wilson to go to the bench if he keeps stinking up the joint!

In a league as large as this, he's a young, second year player that has yet to forge a rep to damage. Despite what the media writes, nobody has a clue how the guys in that locker room feel about him other than the guys in that locker room. Yes, initially the presser wasn't a good look, but there was another interview with another reporter that made a lot more sense, but that one doesn't get the air play, only the presser does cuz it generates clicks and gives talking heads on TV something to deliver a hot take for. Some folks just like to pile on I guess.

To me, the Saleh comments were basically saying, "Hey kid, you're officially on notice, so get your act together" i.e. you're on a short leash. It's essentially Dad calling you out in front of all your friends. Saleh is a good HC and a leader of men, he's not going to lose a strong locker room full of dogs and vets due to the potential perceived coddling of their franchise QB. That being said, I do believe there to be a mixed message being delivered by the coaching staff. Zach is not playing to his strengths because the coaches want him to manage the game. He has lost his instincts because he's being told NOT to do things instead of letting it rip. All of the things they drafted him for (cannon arm, scramble-ability, off-platform throws, improvisation) they’re squelching and it goes against who he is as a player. This is why he’s all up in his head, he’s so focused on not throwing INTs, he isn’t playing loose. Just my take on it.

Anyway, the horse has been beaten.

Beating a dead horse... bringing up/asking something that has been discussed a thousand times before

Well see its all gonna depend on Allen and if he can throw the ball. Then again it also depends on which Lions team shows up. The team that can play national games well or the team that just shits up the joint that everyone hates to watch.

I don't think it's just a "down year" for Russ. I think this is the beginning of the end for him.

I need more data from his time in DEN to go off of before declaring it a wrap on his career. Again, the offense and coaching in DEN isn't helping right now. If things look the same next season I will be more inclined to call it a wrap
