All this wait and see with Rodgers seems to be based on him getting the Jets to get who he wants on offense. I am sure once everything is all official we will hear all the details. Just all seems to be a matter of when, not if.

Dalton signs two year deal with CAR

IND expected to release Matt Ryan this week. If Niners haven't signed Darnold yet they should make a play for Ryan as a veteran backup. Being familiar with Shanny's playbook would be a nice to have, great insurance if something happened to Trey or Brock.

As for McGlinchey, I won’t miss him. His pass blocking left a lot to be desired. The 49ers need to improve the offensive line and if losing McGlinchey is a step in that direction….so be it. Also happy for Garoppolo. Good dude that just can’t seem to shake the injury bug. Hopefully he can stay healthy in LV.

That 40-17 record as a starter though…that might take a hit playing for McDaniels.

did you see all the guys on defense we lost today - Ward, Al-Shaair, Moseley, Ebukam and Omenihu. Crazy. I trust Lynch and Kyle but man wasn't expecting all of these departures.

Yeah, defense definitely took a hit depth wise. On the bright side, with the seven compensatory picks gained, the 49ers now have 11 in the draft. Kyle and John have found some great players with those comp picks in the past (Greenlaw, Hufanga, etc.). Pretty confident they’ll find a few more.

It will be interesting to see what Steve Wilks does with this defense this year. He has a history of improving pass defenses wherever he lands, something the 49ers could definitely use.

Florio said the hold up is that for GB there's no rush the way the contract is set up to trade him now.
But the NYJ wanna get it going because this way they can figure out if they're gonna sign who they're gonna sign and how it's gonna affect their cap.

Apparently, Rodgers signed his extension on 03/15 last year and there's some stipulation in his contract that you have to wait a full year AFTER that date to agree to a trade or some such, so today might have been the day all along. Anyway, it's happening today regardless, so...
