There has been a lot of talk lately about the Cowboys drafting Cam Newton. I can't imagine the team would actually consider drafting Newton but the Cowboys are going to meet with him at the combine. I have trouble believing they would actually take him and a meeting doesn't mean much (teams can meet with 60 players at the combine) but it's an interesting story. There's also a lot of question about whether Newton would even be available to the Cowboys at #9. The Panthers, Bills, Cardinals, 49ers, and Titans all pick before the Cowboys and need a quarterback, and the Broncos and Bengals could need a quarterback as well.
lol oh would I laugh hard that would be a dream come true

Don't want him. I want Patrick Peterson or Prince Amukamara. Odds of it happening? None. Maybe DE Cameron Jordan, if Spears walks (which he's been a bit of a let down)

The Vikings have offer Sidney Rice a contract exension, as a Vikings fan, I have mixed feelings about it, he only has 1 good year and I am concered with his injuries, part of me wishes that the Vikings would trade Sidney for a 2nd round pick and use that to draft a wide receiever or best player avaiable....

While there's no way Peterson falls, the Cowboys might have a shot at Prince. A lot of mock drafts have him falling to Dallas and he definitely fills a big need. The Cowboys biggest need is probably on the offensive line but there's nobody worthy of the #9 pick. It would work out well for them to trade down about 5 spots if possible and take a tackle.

The Vikings can't trade him for a pick because he's not under contract and they chose not to use the franchise tag on him. Depending on how the CBA works out it's possible that Rice will only be a restricted free agent next season and if that's the case the Vikings would be able to keep him for a season at a much cheaper price. It seems to me that it would make sense for both sides to agree to a one-year contract. This would be a good move for the Vikings because it makes Rice prove he's worthy of a big contract, and it's a good move for Rice because he can prove he's healthy and that one good season wasn't a fluke, because right now Rice's value is nowhere near as high as it was after the 2009 season due to his injury and how he was pretty much invisible when he came back in 2010 with the exception of the Buffalo game.

OJ Atogwe and if they can swing that and Price Amukamara would fill both holes nicely. I'm just living in a dream world thinking Jerry Jones can see this.

They just need to draft Prince if he is available. If not, then trade down, get more picks, and fill another need.

I wouldn't mind having him here for awhile granted its not really a long term solution because he's right around 30 and only a few guys are beasts into their 30's and I'm not sure he'd be one of them.

Cowboys and Redskins both need to drop the ego crap and get back to building a FOOTBALL team. They both preach all this crap, yet apparently aren't smart enough to look over in GB for yet another example of DRAFT, DRAFT, DRAFT.

It's actually televised? Good god this stuff is getting out of hand. Then again it wouldn't surprise me if stuff like this still outdrew NHL playoff game ratings. The NFL could have a channel devoted to showing NFL players taking a $hit and it would probably outdraw most sports in viewership.

I think that's what the NFL Network shows in the off season. I have like 4 10+ hour days coming up next week, so I'm going to need to DVR the rest of the combine. But I'm glad to see that I'm really not the only one who watched it. My knee was crying during some of the cuts the OL were making

Redskins is going to release Clinton Portis today, that is too bad, he is a great running back when healthy, I remember his first awesome yard touchdown run as a Redskin but he had not done that since....

I think Gibbs took years off his career with the number of carries he got during his tenure. Portis has a lot of mileage on those legs and a lot of hits on that body.

Yep he'd have been a Hall of Famer had he stayed in Denver. While he did get paid here he'd have gotten paid their to. Gibbs started running him up the middle and 200-400+ times a year and just wrecked him. He was a counter guy at Denver and I never understood why they did that with him.
