So apparently ESPN reported that the lockout was back on and the court had approved a stay of the injunction, but they've retracted that report. The players are expecting the stay to be granted though so the lockout is likely to be back on, although it wouldn't be stayed until Monday. The stay will only be temporary until a hearing is held. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu..._ruling_042911 |

Last year 8.6 million watched day 1 of the draft - this year 7 million - 16% drop.
Thats actually not bad considering the lockout + duller draft class + didnt have to go against american idol & carels last office episode last year. |

Wouldn't mind stealing this guy in the 4th round, he could be our next Chris Canty. |

![]() But look at McIntosh for us he slid out of the first because they said he had knees like an old lady and he's stayed fairly healthy, so its not inconceivable bowers will be a steal for someone. |

Yeah they're still going after McNabb. Cowboys will probably draft Aaron Williams in the 2nd round, would like to see them trade back into the second round after that and get a starting 3-4 DE to replace Marcus Spears unless they think Jason Hatcher is that guy.

The draft starts in a couple minutes, and the Patriots still haven't traded the pick. I wouldn't mind them actually using the pick if the offers from QB-hungry teams aren't there. I'd love for the Pats to take Bowers but he's too risky, so they'll probably take Brooks Reed, Akeem Ayers, or Jabaal Sheard. I'd like to see them get a running back with one of their second round picks as well, preferably a good pass blocker because that's not BenJarvus Green-Ellis' strong suit.

The Cowboys would be idiots to cut Colombo this season. Sign him for one year, start Smith on the right side and work him into the left side by next season.

Appeals court reinstates lockout, during draft
Posted by Mike Florio on April 29, 2011, 6:56 PM EDT PadlockAP AP Earlier today, ESPN reported that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit had granted the NFL’s request for a temporary stay of the ruling lifting the lockout, until the Eighth Circuit could rule on the request for a less-temporary stay of the ruling while the league’s appeal is considered. As it turns out, the report wasn’t wrong. It was just premature. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the temporary stay has been granted, which means that the lockout is back on. For now. It’ll be interesting to see whether Commissioner Roger Goodell confirms the news from the podium at Radio City Music Hall. The assembled fans wouldn’t be booing in response. They’d be chanting “Goooooodell.” Meanwhile, the teams that were smart enough to distribute playbooks today — and all 32 of them should have done it — will have an edge if the lockout ends up remaining in place until August or later. |

I could see AZ taking him in the 4th just in case they can't trade for McNabb or Kolb. Even though I think they should give Skelton a full season. He's clearly the best of what they have. |

Edit: Wow Patriots took a second RB. Maybe they realized having a running game wins playoff games. Can't use backups forever. BAHAHAHAHAHA THEY TOOK MALLET!!!! GO PATS LOLOLOLOL. Waste of a pick. I'm certain they just took him to trade him mid-season to some desperate team. Last edited by SleeperAgent; 04-30-2011 at 01:14 AM. |
