Quincy Carter was actually quite talented, just lacked the focus and intelligence to stick in the NFL. I hope my Packers and Saints fantasy players do well on Thursday.

Ahh, I remember the outrage of Dallas fans when Quincy was released, good times, good times!

Well yeah Quincy may have been an unfocused drug addict but he was still better than Drew Deadslow and Vinny Interceptaverde were during their time in Dallas. Romo is still the best QB we've had by far since Troy, which is probably why so many Cowboys fans like myself like him so much.

We knew about his drug issues in college. Unfortunately, so did the coach but he did nothing about it (which, among other things, eventually led to his dismissal).

They did make the right decision to release Quincy so props to the Cowboys for that

He's got more than 4 years of service so he's an unrestricted free agent and won't be subject to waivers. In addition, if he did have to go through the waiver process nobody would have claimed him due to his $8 million salary for the upcoming season.

I could see a team like the Colts making a run at him actually since it would seem there's a chance Peyton could be out for an extended period of time and Garrard would be a much better security blanket than the recently retired Kerry Collins.

It is possible or maybe Seattle since they have the worst quarterbacks in the NFL

San Franciso has bad QBs also, as do the Redskins, so I think the reason the Jaguars didn't try to trade Garrard is his monstrous salary.

Our coach Polian (opps I mean GM) is in love w/Collins, so I don't expect D. Garrad won't be going to the Colts.

CBS Washington's David Elfin expects John Beck to get his chance as the Redskins' starting quarterback "sooner rather than later."
"Beck will become Washington’s 20th starting quarterback in the last 19 years some time this season," writes Elfin, a longtime Redskins beat reporter formerly of the Washington Times. "You can count on it." Beck lost his chance to start Week 1 by struggling in the preseason finale, but the organization is higher on him long term than Rex Grossman. The Redskins' bye this year falls in Week 5. We wouldn't be surprised if Beck started games before then.

No wonder the Redskins suck every year.

I was shocked, too! I'll be SURPRISED if HOU doesn't take the South this year.

IMO, a bit too early.

Well, it's Del Rio's hot seat. No Playoffs, No job in 2012.
They should dangle a few picks to the bengals to try and get palmer imo.

Luke McCown is decent. He actually gets rid of the ball faster than Garrard, and most importantly avoids the pressure. Although his numbers don't show. He can actually play. The BIG question is, is his start short term since he really has no experience.

Again, another stupid decision by Del Rio. I know GM Gene Smith was also a big part in the decision, but this year COULD of been a great opportunity to finally take the South when Manning is questionable.

I'm still expecting the Jags to win against TN this week though. After that, I'm doubting our promised season now. I'd expect Gabbert to start shortly once McCown struggles. Kind of like what I said with Garrard.

Another big injury for Giants: LB Jon Goff tore his ACL and is out for year. Giants likely to re-sign their former LB Kawika Mitchell.

Wow that Giants D is taking a lot of hits before the season.
