Seriously though, I guess their plan is to have Gabbert start playing relatively quickly this season and get him valuable experience for the future. Regardless, I think Jacksonville will win more games than some of you think. They won't go to the playoffs, but they are in a weak division.

They still have jobs because of the lockout. For the most part teams did not want to fire their coaches and have to install a new system when they knew the lockout wasn't going to end until July or August so they kept coaches that normally would have been fired. Del Rio and Kubiak will be fired if their teams don't make the playoffs this year.

It was also mentioned that Weaver on Del Rio during the end of the last season was that it's best to keep Del Rio at least one more year because they have the pieces in place and if they decide to change head coaches. That would of been a setback going into the 2011-12 season.

Well, now that our veteran QB is gone. That's not the case as far as pieces put in place and it's a HUGE setback for us Jaguar fans. Some love it, some think it was the worst move in Franchise history. A lot of buzz going on in Jacksonville right now.

Due to President Obama's job speech the pregame show for tomorrow's Packers-Saints game won't be shown on NBC but will instead be shown on USA, G4, SyFy, Versus, and NFL Network. President Obama's speech and the pregame show both start at 7:00 Eastern time. NBC will switch to the pregame show when the speech is over and the White House has said the speech will end well before the game's scheduled 8:30 Eastern kickoff.

207 games is a long streak shame its going to end, not sure how good the colts gonna be this year because even if Manning does play its going to take him a long time to build that arm back up. Manning cannot even practice at this time.

It looks like Favre's record will stands for at least another 5-6 years. Not even going to guess at who's the next closest to breaking it.

So can anyone here tell me how they think the Cowboys are going to do this Season and why? I have not been following as much as I should have because my NASCAR Driver(Jeff Gordon) is doing really well at the moment and the Chase for The Sprint Cup is about to start, so I would love to hear some thoughts on how you think they will do this Season, I am sure I missed some pre Season stories.

Thanks

As I've said before, I think they will win between 8-12 games. Romo's back and they were the second highest-scoring offense over the second half of the season last year without him. Bryant's healthy now, we've upgraded our offensive line from last year's and Jones seems poised for a break-out season. Our offense will be one of the top 5 in the NFL, our defense will make or break our season. Secondary got a mild upgrade with Abram Elam replacing Allan Ball but other than that, mostly the same personnel that gave up a franchise record in points. Lot riding on Rob Ryan's ability to get more out of them than Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett did last year.

Next closest to Favre's record is Eli Manning at 103 starts. If the season stays at 16 games Eli would have to start every game for over 12 more seasons (which would make him 43) to break the record.

Ronde Barber has the longest streak now if we go beyond just QBs.

Mike Jenkins was hurt in today's practice, per Jerry Jones. Not an aggravation of stinger, but he didn't offer any more details.

Eli is the next quarterback, but not the next player. Ronde Barber of Tampa Bay is the next closest active player with 183 starts (+9 playoff games).

*EDIT* He'd have to play every game for another 7 years + 2 games, which would make him 44 to catch the Favre'ster.

Bah I suck at math.

Del Rio is a master of scraping out just enough wins not to get fired. He's the master of low expectations. But my guess is he gets canned before this season ends. But as lousy as Del Rio is the pinch-penny ownership is just as much to blame. They've never been committed to winning.

Was just looking at the Manning family's QB records.

Archie Manning 35-101-3
Eli Manning 60-43
Peyton Manning 141-67

Poor pops was a very good QB. He just played on some terrible Saints teams. 12 of his 13 seasons as a pro were on losing teams, best record being 8-8.

Cowboys stud right tackle Tyron Smith got hurt in practice today, waiting for MRI results. Just about the worst possible news going into that Sunday Night game against the Jets.

Smith is out 2-4 weeks with a hyperextended right knee. He will be replaced by Jermey Parnell, who was undrafted in 2009 out of Ole Miss and who spent time on the Saints practice squad and Dolphins before the Cowboys signed him last October. Parnell only played one year of college football and that was as a defensive end.
