IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant failed to show up for a scheduled Tuesday hearing to settle a $600,000 debt with a jeweler/ticket broker.

Beth Ann Blackwood, the attorney for Colleyville resident Eleow Hunt, filed a motion in Tarrant County court Wednesday afternoon seeking an immediate hearing to settle the debt.

Hunt claims he sold the jewelry and sporting event tickets to Bryant from January 2009 to July 2010.

Bryant's attorney, Royce West, did not return a phone call seeking comment.

According to court documents, Bryant postponed an Oct. 4 hearing to Oct. 11, but he failed to arrive for Tuesday's hearing at West's office and didn't give a reason.

Bryant had wanted to take care of all court matters on Tuesdays, which is the regular day off for players in the NFL. But because he failed to show up Tuesday, Blackwood's latest motion asks for the settlement hearing to be held on any day.

Bryant was unavailable for comment. David Wells, Bryant's adviser, didn't return a call seeking comment.

I actually think it's more likely Miami will upset New York than it is that we will beat New England but I'd love the Cowboys to prove me wrong.

Yeah guess hes not picking up the playbook very well or something to that effect, I imagine by the bye week he may either get cut or finally get the playbook

I think any other team would have cut him by now, the Pats are just trying to save face gambling on both Ohco and Albert and failing on both trades

When you have as many draft picks saved up as the Pats do was it really a gamble on both of them?

IRVING, Texas -- After the Cowboys’ collapse against Detroit on Oct 2, Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, who was on Dallas’ last Super Bowl team, proclaimed Tony Romo as a quarterback that will not take the team to its next championship.

On Thursday Romo was asked if he was aware of Sanders’ comments.

“Every once in a while you definitely hear things that come out but that’s not something you search out,” Romo said. “Deion’s welcome to his own opinion about stuff. Deion’s Deion. He is what he is. We’re going to go out here and we’re going to play good football. This team’s going to win a Super Bowl at some point and it’s going to be exciting when that time comes. And when we look back we’ll know who was on what side of the fence during the tough moments. That’s exciting for us as competitors that we get a chance to get better and go out there and have a chance one day.”

Romo was intercepted three times in the loss to the Lions and had two returned for touchdowns. He has had costly mistakes late in both Cowboys’ defeats. He had a fumble and interception in the season-opening loss to the New York Jets.

Romo earned universal praise for his performances against San Francisco and Washington while playing with a fractured rib and punctured lung.

“I don’t understand this guy,” Sanders said on NFL Network. “Just when you want to believe in him, heroic effort, came back against San Francisco, they said punctured lung and everything. And we praised him, we said, ‘Yeah, he’s that leader, he’s their guy.’ And then you come and do this. What are you thinking? Sooner or later we’ve just got to quit guessing and assuming that this guy’s the guy to get you over the hump, and say, ‘You know what? This guy is always going to be great statistically, but he’s not that guy that can take you where you want to go. And that’s the Super Bowl.”


Romo is betting he is.

I’ve never seen Romo as a Super Bowl winning QB.

He makes to many mistakes and as the leader of the team, u can’t do that.

Look @ Favre, he had how many records and winning seasons and what not and only won 1 Super Bowl.
