ESPN Dallas reports that Miles Austin (hamstring) is expected to practice on Wednesday and play against the Giants in Week 14 barring setbacks.
The Cowboys can't afford to weed Laurent Robinson out of the offense entirely just because Austin is back, but there's little doubt that Robinson's snaps will be reduced. Austin has missed six games this season due to injuries to both hamstrings, but has still been a top-15 receiver in fantasy points per game. He should be considered a WR2 on Sunday Night Football.

I had Victor Cruz on my team at one point, wish I hadn't given up on him. He is going to light Orlando Scandrick up like a Christmas tree Sunday night.

Apparently NBC and CBS are fighting over the week 15 Patriots-Broncos game. NBC wants to move the game to prime time but CBS (and Patriots owner Bob Kraft) are fighting the move. I'm not sure what grounds CBS has to fight the move. They chose not to protect the game and instead chose to protect Jets-Eagles. We should find out today whether the game will get moved.

Archie Manning believes Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck do not want to be teammates on the Colts next season.
Luck has participated in the Manning Family's passing camp. His father, Oliver, was a teammate of Archie's, so the families may have already touched base on the possibility. Despite team president Bill Polian's comments to the contrary, the Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz has been adamant that Manning and Luck can't co-exist in Indy next season. It's quite possible that Manning and the Colts could be headed toward a divorce in an offseason of major rebuilding.

^ That's if they draft Luck.

EDIT: If they release Manning, he's going to want to play for a winning team. He wouldn't want to play for example the Jags because were rebuilding. Ultimately, it's tough to see Manning be elsewhere, but he's due for some big money next season.

Veteran QB Mark Brunell emerges from bankruptcy

http://www.news4jax.com/news/Veteran...z/-/index.html

Quote:
[Show spoiler]JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - As his 18-year NFL career comes to a close, Mark Brunell's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case came to an end Monday, the Fiancial News and Daily Record reported.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Funk confirmed Brunnell's reorganization plan, which acknowledges that the former Jacksonville quarterback's income will drop sharpy when he retires from the New York Jets, which is expected at the end of this season.

According to court documents, Brunell is making a total of $960,000 in salary and bonuses this season from the Jets, where he is a backup quarterback.

While the plan to reorganize his debts acknowledges that Brunell’s income will drop sharply once he stops playing football, it calls him to pay $350,000 to unsecured creditors to settle their claims. He intends to sell some assets to pay off those creditors.

Those documents also say Brunnell and his family plan to return to their Ponte Vedra Beach home after his retirement. He may take a job as a sales representative for a medical device distributor, the documents said.

Brunell, 41, played nine years with the Jaguars, from the inaugural season until 2003. He has also played for the Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints. He joined the Jets as a backup quarterback, earning $1.5 million for that season.

Brunell filed for Chapter 11 in June 2010, citing losses from failed investments made with earnings from his football career. He listed assets of $5.5 million and liabilities of $24.7 million in the initial filing.

According to the disclosure statement obtained from the court by the Daily Record, the bad investments included real estate and several Whataburger franchises.

At Monday’s hearing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Jacksonville, one of Brunell’s attorneys, Jacob Brown of Akerman Senterfitt, said he was forced into bankruptcy because of losses incurred when the real estate market collapsed.

Brunell did attend Monday’s court proceedings and has declined to comment on the case after the hearing. He did offer his thoughts on recent Jaguars news to the Daily Record, including the announcement last week that majority owner Wayne Weaver is selling the team.

“It’s a new beginning for the Jaguars and I can’t speak highly enough of Mr. Weaver,” Brunell said, citing Weaver’s involvement in the community beyond owning the team.

“The Jacksonville community is better for it,” he told the newspaper.

Brunell only one season playing for Jack Del Rio in 2003, who drafted Byron Leftwich to succeed Brunell at quarterback.

The exact end of Brunell’s career depends on when the Jets’ season ends. The team currently has a 7-5 record and is in contention for a playoff berth.

That's great news for Jaguar fans who continue to follow Mark Brunell.

Who's Mark Brunell? JK, I remember when some people thought Mark Brunell, Fred Taylor and Jimmy Smith would be the new triplets, hilarious.

The Texans cut quarterback Kellen Clemens and are going to sign Jeff Garcia. The 41-year old Garcia will be the third string quarterback behind rookie T.J. Yates and Jake Delhomme.

Even is worse came to worse and the Colts had trade the #1 overall pick they'd get a king's ransom for it. We're talking Herschel Walker type draft picks on steroids.

But if I'm the Colts I'd trade Peyton Manning before I'd trade the Andrew Luck pick. Franchise QB's only come around a few times each decade and Manning isn't fgetting any younger.

Wait, what? so you would trade both Manning & The #1 pick in Luck, how would that give them a franchise QB? i think you worded that wrong

Yeah they were saying that the #1 pick this year could cost a team four first round picks, of course no one would make that trade. Except maybe the Redskins.

Ya, that makes sense... But imo I would keep Manning if his neck comes back 100% healthy, he has at least a good 4 or 5 years of football left in him, Colts already have a solid defense, with all the draft picks they get for Luck they can improve O-line, D-line, get a solid RB (Bush) , and another qb they can groom under Manning... I see them back in the SB within the next few years (depending on Mannings health of course)

I know Luck looks great, but no one is a sure thing in the NFL

That's true. It's a deep QB draft in 2012. If they were to trade the #1 overall and one of their many picks in return was say #5 or #10 overall you might still have someone like Barkley of Griffin still available. It's not Luck but you'd still end up with a potentially very capable successor and still have many more picks from the trade to use.

I agree with you on the sure thing part, but I've heard some scouts really believe that Luck is a surefire franchise quarterback with Canton type of potential. At his age, you have to think towards the future. 12+ years of Luck or maybe a couple years of Manning. Now I'm a pretty die hard football fan, and I can honestly say Luck is the best NFL prospect I've seen in well over a decade.
