Based on the past decade I'd expect him to last about a season and a half.
I see the Raiders being a more stable franchise with Al Davis gone and an actual GM running the team. I would hope Allen gets plenty of time because that team is not in a very good position with a massive payroll and virtually no draft picks in the upcoming draft.

Really? They fired Hue Jackson after a season where the team did no worse than expectations. The Raiders went 8-8, which is as good if not better than the talent they have. Seems to me lil' Al Davis makes knee-jerk coachign moves just like pops did.

He could be better on a few things. Namely allowing TD celebrations and rolling back the insane rules protecting QB's and kickers. We're already to a point where QB records are meaningless and running the ball is merely an afterthought.

That was because they hired a new GM though and very few GMs don't hire their own coaches. There were also some contractual issues with Jackson because his contract stated he only answered to Al Davis, and Jackson made some statements about how he wanted more power in picking his players and you could see a power fight coming if they kept Jackson. Now that they have a respected GM they should be more stable and not firing coaches every year.

You should get your facts straight before posting, it was our new GM who made the decision to fire Hue, not Mark Davis, worry about how garbage the Jags will be for the next few years instead of commenting on the Raiders all the time

No need to crap on the Raiders every other post

Def more stability with the hire of a GM, Raider nation has been waiting for this day a LONG TIME!!! Reggie McKenzie is very well respected coming from Green Bay, and I hope he turns us into a winner, either way we were close to a playoff spot this year and see us being much better next year, I know we dont have very many early draft picks, but we should get a pair of compensatory picks for losing Nnamdi (3rd round) and Miller (4th round)... I hope

Its Official Colt announced the move today presser tomorrow

Quote:
Colts hired former Ravens defensive coordinator as head coach.
Pagano isn't known to have any history with new GM Ryan Grigson, so the Colts' coaching search appears to have been approached with an open mind. Pagano's 2011 Ravens defense ranked third in the NFL in yards allowed, fourth against the pass, and second versus the run. Pagano runs a hybrid 4-3/3-4 and is likely to remake Indianapolis' defense. He'll likely look to hire a quarterback-focused offensive coordinator to work with Andrew Luck. It's perhaps worth noting that Hue Jackson was on Baltimore's staff with Pagano in 2008 and 2009.

Not surprised we lost Pagano to a head coaching job, just suprised it was only after 1 season.

He has really improved the NFL since he became commissioner. I really love how he has cleaned up the game both on and off the field. On a negative side, like Chad said, the NFL could loosen up on their celebration rules. But all in all he is doing a great job in my eyes. And most importantly, the NFL seems to be more financially successful (and popular) than it has been in a long time. It's pretty clear that football is king in the United States, and Goodell is going a good job at selling the brand.

In news that is sure to upset most Ravens fans, the Baltimore Sun reports that Cam Cameron is expected to return as offensive coordinator next season. The Sun says Cameron called his offensive assistants yesterday and gave them instructions for the upcoming weeks, which is seen as a sign Cameron will return. A source told the Sun that Cameron will have to hire a QB coach after serving in that role in addition to offensive coordinator last season.

In a bit of a shocker, Adam Schefter reports the Buccaneers are near a deal to hire Rutger's Greg Schiano as their new coach.
