Agreed. They're also under much more scrutiny and pressure to do well since they touch the ball every snap lol

Yeah, but I think the point he was trying to make(Dave Hyde from the Sun Sentinel) is the Dolphins need to stop trying to find their future QB in the 2nd-3rd round and go all-in with Tannehill since he has the tools, he just lacks experience.

There are 2 things I like about Tannehill: He is smart and he has the work ethic, and that gives him a better chance of succeeding.

I know I said I want a pass rusher at #8, but if Ingram is gone, I'd rather take Tannehill over Quinton Coples, who doesn't play hard, lacks effort, etc...

The problem is they draft them throw them in for a game and then never really give them a shot. I bet allot would fail, but I'm sure there are guys who got phased out or never got a chance that could have been Tom Brady's in the right situation. Brady himself admits they almost got rid of him in those super bowl recap shows on NFLN, but they kept 3 or 4qbs that year on a "hunch".

Romo almost got cut from the Cowboys but Quincy Carter got kicked off the team in 2004 so they kept Romo around, Griffin scares me a lot. Hopefully they won't get him too much help on offense.

Someone was saying though that lately 1st round qbs have been more hits then misses at least as far as getting to be a starting qb.

Not sure i have the #s exactly right but i think its something like of the 11 qbs taken in the 1st round over the last 4 years 9 of them are starters & the other 2 are tebow (who was & could still be) & locker (could be this year too) so not too shabby.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer expects the Browns' pick at No. 4 overall to come down to Justin Blackmon and Trent Richardson.
The Plain Dealer considers the Browns "unlikely" to select Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill, and LSU CB Morris Claiborne "doubtful" to be the fourth pick because of their offensive needs. Top Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot chose Blackmon at No. 4 in her latest mock draft. If that turns out to be the case, it'll be safe to expect Richardson to the Buccaneers and Claiborne to the Rams.

I'm not a Saints fan, but I cheer for them every now and then against other teams, but I also cheered for Brett Favre if and when I got a chance (but I limited myself much more cause, yes, he was in a Vikings jersey and not a Packers one) If the 2009 NFC Championship game was the New Orleans Saints vs the Green Bay Packers, I would have been bitting my nails to the bone, well maybe not that bad, but you get the picture, I like both teams equally.

I remember his [Brett] first year in Minnesota when he played against the (Carolina) Panthers in Week 15 (Sunday Night), and he was getting "Pounded" by their "D"

But as dfinch pointed out, I didn't think any of those hits on him were "Ilegal Hits," especially if the defensive team didn't get a "flag" for them, I just think the Saints (or Panthers) were just that much more aggressive on "D" and that the Vikings "O-Line" was also that much more vulnerable

I can't remember the last time I was so excited for a season to start. Well maybe the 2010 season, that ended in a bummer. As well as the 2011 season lol.

I just wish Goodell would release the evidence, which I know he never will. Just as the whole spygate scandal. I'm not hating on any player or any other coach until I see some real stuff, not some 'inside sources' who have read documents or memo's.

The tape released was pretty ridiculous. but not all of it was over the line. Tim Hasselbeck was talking about it ESPN, some of the speech was normal coach stuff in the NFL as many have said, Ochocinco defended some of it on his twitter account.

I just want the truth, I mean even Tracy Porter after he signed with the Broncos said bounties never happened. I don't know how someone on the Defense could flat out say that if they didn't think there wasn't any sort of hard evidence to prove it.

And there is plenty of hypocrisy in the media during all of this as well. Warren Sapp was so disgusted by all this bounty stuff. But he almost ended Chad Clifton's career on one of the most cheapest 'blocks' of all time.

Overall this will make the team look bad for years to come, but I don't see them much differently as I did before. I don't see the Superbowl tarnished or even dented by this.

I just want the Saints carrying that Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans in 2013
Yeah I can't see Saints fans fleeing to another team because of this. Bottom line I'm sure it happens more then just this. And Williams is a idiot for making the speech when he knew cameras were around. Watching the highlights, I didn't really see any bad hits. And if they were, how many were flagged? As a Saints fan,do you think it's fair if Parcells came in for 1 year? And if he won it,would you want your old coach back?I'm really surprised Parcells would do a coaching gig for just one year.

While a lot of later round QBs never get a chance, you also have players like David Carr that are thrown in before they are ready (and without an offensive line) and play terrible and get killed every game and eventually lose their confidence. Brady had a full year to learn the system and had no pressure when he became the starter. I've always wondered how players like Carr could have done if they'd had more time to sit and learn the system.

Franchise player Matt Forte is expected to skip the beginning of the Bears' offseason program next Monday.
That's because attending would require signing his $7.7 million franchise tender. Next week's workouts are voluntary, but Forte appears to have no intention of inking his tender before the July 16 deadline to sign franchise players to long-term contracts. That means he likely won't be in attendance for the Bears' mandatory minicamp, which is expected to take place in early June. There's been no indication the sides are close to a deal.

No surprise, the NFL has upheld all of the bounty penalties issued against the Saints, GM Mickey Loomis, coach Sean Payton, and assistant coach Joe Vitt:

Quote:
"The club and the individuals will be expected to cooperate in any further proceedings and to assist in the development and implementation of programs to instruct players and coaches at all levels on principles of player safety, fair play, and sportsmanship," the league said in a statement. "If they embrace the opportunity and participate in a constructive way, Commissioner Goodell said he would consider mitigating the financial penalties on the individuals. In the case of the team, the commissioner would consider whether there are factors that would support modifying the forfeiture of the team's 2013 second-round draft choice."

Yep I felt like Carr is one that got lost to a crappy team.

Unlike you I consider the Texans to be one of the top 10 teams in the NFL, even with the loss of Super Mario. I do feel bad for Carr that he wasn't there long enough for them to reach this level, though.

Now, but they were a train wreck for the entire time he was there.
