I don't like Teo but 40 times are a terrible way of measuring a player's ability/speed. Roy Williams was an All-American sprinter at Texas, I believe the Cowboys had an Olympic sprinter that never panned out. Jerry Rice and Anquan Boldin both ran absolutely horrific 40 times and they both had pretty terrific careers.

True but when you showed how slow you were against elite talent in the championship it doesn't bode well when that slowness again shows up at the combine.

Reported today that the deal includes a whopping $30 million dollar singing bonus.

It is true that Brady is benefiting plenty from his extension. In addition to making $3 million more over the first 2 years of the deal his guaranteed money went up greatly. He's already guaranteed his $30 million signing bonus (which will be paid in installments through 2015), and the $3 million he's due in 2013 and 2014 are fully guaranteed and all $24 million of his 2015-2017 deal is guaranteed for injury, and as long as he's on the Patriots roster on the final game of the 2014 season that $24 million becomes fully guaranteed. Brady also gets piece of mind in knowing the Patriots are committed to him.

Well if you're talking Jerry Rice we're comparing apples and oranges. That was over 20 years ago when the combines meant a good deal less than today. It's no secret that today's athletes are putting up better numbers really across the board. It's the simple evolution of athletics. And as far as Rice goes his usual 40 times were actually more like 4.5 than the 4.8 he supposedly had at the combine.

While the $30 million is considered a signing bonus for salary cap reasons he won't receive it all right away. He'll get $10 million of it this year, $5 million in February 2014, $10 million during the 2014 season, and the final $5 million in February 2015. It is all fully-guaranteed.

Nnamdi Asomugha ate lunch in his car during practices instead of eating with his teammates last season, WIP Radio in Philadelphia reported Tuesday.

WIP Radio's Hollis Thomas, who played for the Eagles from 1996 to 2005, reported the information, citing unnamed sources, who told Thomas that Asomugha chose to eat in his car in order to secure some "me time" during the season.

Rumor is Steven Jackson could be a Falcon next year. Also lots of talk about Tony G dropping to 50/50 on retirement and Falcons making him their top priority.

That would be a awesome fit. Steven Jackson deserves to be on a playoff contending team, he plays hard on a terrible team.

The more you read about it the less money I feel Brady left on the table.

The total theoretical $ went down, but his actual dollars likely went up.

I hate the way NFL contracts are. No, that guy doesn't have a 100 million dollar contract. He has a ~20 million dollar contract that could be 100 million under absurd and unlikely scenarios.
