The Steelers organization doesn't put up with nonsense like that, similar to New England. Come to think of it weren't the Pouncey brothers mentioned along with Hernandez in that 2007 killing in Gainesville? You'd think they'd want to keep a low profile on this.

Yeah, I would be surprised if the trial starts this year. Unless Hernandez's lawyers wants the trial to start quickly they'll easily be able to push the start date to the spring or even next summer.

4-5 months is about accurate especially with the speed the evidence flew in to authorities possession. His lawyers may actually push for it to be out of the NFL spotlight but who knows. His lawyers strategy will be an interesting one to see that is for sure. Obviously just my opinion not like I haven't been known to be wrong before lol

The Broncos have doled out their punishments to their team executives who were arrested for driving drunk, with player personnel director Matt Russell suspended indefinitely without pay and executive vice president of football operations Tom Heckert suspended one month without pay. Russell, who was widely viewed as their GM in-waiting, had a .246 blood alcohol concentration, and Heckert had a .162 BAC. There's a good chance that Russell and Heckert will be punished by the NFL as well. In 2010 Lions president Tom Lewand was fined $100,000 and suspended 30 days (later reduced to 21 days) by the NFL after pleading guilty to driving while impaired.

Edit: The NFL has said it doesn't plan on any further punishment for either person.

Russell was triple the legal limit and struck and injured a police officer, in addition to two vehicles. I don't get how he wasn't outright fired.

I think it's that people get to be such die hards it gets blown up. I know I'd just be like well duh we all had a fav team growing up but unless cam was walking around in falcons gear 24/7 and talking about them 24/7 it really shouldn't matter.
