The Patriots cut cornerback Ras-I Dowling, the #33 pick in the 2011 draft. The Pats took some criticism when they drafted Dowling because he had an injury-plagued senior year and he only played in 9 games in his 2 seasons in New England due to injuries. He's yet another recent second round bust for the Patriots, joining Darius Butler, Ron Brace, Terrence Wheatley, Chad Jackson, and Bethel Johnson.

I'm curious, how'd the pick do we gave you guys in the Seymour trade? I think it was a WR?

So could he just never overcome those injuries.

The Patriots took offensive tackle Nate Solder with that pick. He split time at the tackle spots as a rookie and started most of the year and became the left tackle last season, starting every game. He's been a very solid player for the Pats.

I would say I’m 100 percent, but you can’t put a number on it, no one ever knows when they are 100 percent or what percentage they’re playing at. The biggest thing is I’m not below 100 percent.

You'd think if they were going to cut him, they would have done it by Tuesday. They surely know by now if they plan on keeping him or not.

Not necessarily at all. Waiting to see how good/bad he does come this last game tomorrow. No use for him on this team other than #3 or #4 QB and even there you can get guys out there with the same skill set. This isn't a read option offense here

He didn't play last game at all...tomorrow he should play a good amount and will be a better gauge

Even if they were 100% positive they were going to cut him they wouldn't have done it until Friday or Saturday. They need someone to take the snaps at quarterback tonight and with only 3 QBs on the roster and Brady likely to play a series at most they wouldn't want to play Mallett virtually the entire game and risk him getting injured. I really have no idea if Tebow will make the team, but him surviving the first cuts is meaningless.
