I don't know if the Broncos can afford to keep Decker. Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas only have one year left on their contracts so it's unlikely they'll be able to keep all 3 guys. Demaryius will likely be looking for top 5 receiver money and Julius will probably be looking for top 3 tight end money and I would think if they have to let someone go it would be Decker.

Perhaps Peyton might restructure and they can keep all 3? I was thinking if they had to lose 1 it would be Decker.

Looks like Pettine is the new Browns head coach, you can't blame the guy for wanting a head coaching gig. He's a fantastic defensive coordinator, and we will surely miss him. I wish him all the best.

I am a bit surprised he didn't wait another year when he likely would have had multiple teams to pick from. I guess he just really wanted to be an NFL head coach.

That'll get more players to report concussions ... RT @ProFootballTalk Goodell says NFL would consider marijuana as a concussion treatment.

The man who killed Redskins superstar Sean Taylor has been sentenced to 57 years in prison. The other three individuals involved in his killing are still awaiting trial. And this happened in 2007. The wheels of justice sure are slow here in Florida...

A Houston area furniture store ran a promotion last week. If you spent $5000 or more and had the furniture delivered before the games on Sunday, you could pick the winners of both games. If you matched both, your furniture was free. 80% (or over 100 people) of those who qualified picked Seattle and Denver. Of course, the local news here in KC acted like they lost all sorts of money, when they surely had insurance on the promotion and lost nowhere near the $600,000 number of the furniture value.

But, they're running it again for the Super Bowl, but upping the amount to $6000.

The owner said he didn't have insurance on the promotion. I have to think it would be hard to find a company to insure that promotion. Insurance companies would look at the promotion and realize that it's incredibly likely that they would have to make a significant payout, so they would either refuse to insure it or charge an astronomical premium.

"Mattress Mack" has done this before and he does lose some money but not as bad as it sounds. The catch is you have to buy the furniture and have it delivered before gametime. This definitely gets some people to buy more furniture than they originally intended so that they can get in on the attempt for free furniture. Then if they lose they paid more than they wanted. It also captures those people who may have been window shopping or just pricing furniture into making a purchase. Finally, he gets publicity nationwide for this. In the past, he has also bought TV ads during the Super Bowl so he is not afraid of spending money to make some money.

Former Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent, who was convicted earlier this week of intoxication manslaughter in the death of teammate Jerry Brown, just got a very light sentence from the court. Brent got 180 days in prison, a 10 year suspended sentence, 10 years probation, and a $10,000 fine. The 180 days in prison was mandatory when he received probation. As long as Brent stays out of trouble and complies with the terms of his probation he'll never have to serve the 10 year sentence.

I expected a light sentence because there has been precedent for this type of sentencing. Now can he stay out of trouble. Easier said than done for some.

He failed drug tests twice while he was awaiting trial. We'll see if the potential of 10 years in prison is enough incentive for him to swear off weed.

Richardson is a fine young player, but Kiko is better. There's a reason he has already bagged PFRA Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. You don't get 159 tackles as a rookie by accident. He's already one of the premier linebackers in the league at the tender age of 23.

Actually according to position Kiko is the 10th best ILB and Sheldon is the 5th best 3-4 DE.. Just saying.
