I've always wanted to see him get some meaningful action. He had a rocket arm in college but slid to the third round mainly due to concerns about his personality, as he'd gotten arrested for public intoxication and admitted to teams during pre-draft interviews that he had used drugs. He hasn't had any behavior issues since he was drafted and spent 3 years learning behind Brady so it will be interesting to see what he can do.

What do you think is fair punishment for AP? 4 games or rest of this season imo.

He's already missed 8 games (albeit with pay) and all he pleaded guilty to was a misdemeanor. I think a fair punishment would be a fine equal to a couple game checks. The 8 games he missed was a de facto suspension, and now that his legal issues are resolved I don't see why he should miss any more time.

I had a similar line of thought until I realized a couple game checks equals millions of dollars and I don't know if anyone can be fined that much.

Sammy Watkins hurt his groin today in practice, but the severity isn't yet known.

Players often get fined game checks. Under the old personal conduct policy the standard punishment for a first offense DUI was a fine equal to two game checks, and the new DUI punishment is a fine of one game check (plus a one game suspension). When Shaun Rogers was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to the airport his NFL punishment was a fine of one game check ($400,000). Joseph Randle's fine from the Cowboys for shoplifting was a game check ($30,000). I know with Peterson each game check is worth almost $700,000, but that shouldn't make a difference when they hand out a penalty.

The NFL claims it wants football to catch on in England, but they certainly aren't sending a very appealing slate of games.

I hate the NFL sometimes, waking up and watching my Lions at 9:30am EST was not what I had in mind for Nov 1 2015

AP first request for reinstatement has been denied

Quote:

The NFL rejected a request from Adrian Peterson's camp for immediate reinstatement following his plea deal Tuesday.

The NFL isn't going to make any hasty decisions here. Per ESPN's Ed Werder, they will examine the court documents/police record in the case, convene experts, hold a hearing with Peterson and the NFLPA, consult with the Vikings and the union and then possibly apply the personal conduct policy. Considering Peterson has been suspended (with pay) since Week 1, it's only fair that the matter is resolved quickly. He's hoping to play in Week 11 now that all his legal matters are resolved.

My wife and I have been talking about wanting to go to London for years now. Might be a good time to book a trip.

You're right, so far they've done a pretty poor job of picking games. Hopefully the KC-DET game will be a good one next year.

We don't know if that game will be 9:30, but I hope one of them will. It's fun to watch football while I get ready for church.

Just read the chiefs essentially spilled the beans that its 9:30.

They said on their website it will be locally & nationally on FOX so the only way its nationally is if its 9:30.

As a Texans season ticket holder, I will be pissed if we lose a home game to London. Take away one of the crappy preseason games but not a regular season game.

You will lose a home game if Texans play in London and it is considered a Texans home game. Good news at least is they wont charge you for it.

I don't mind my Texans playing in London but it better not be a Texans home game. We have sold out every home game in our history (yes, I know it is only 12+ years) so don't take away one of our home games and our fans will be just as angry as these Dolphins and Chiefs fans.

Can you blame them? They are being robbed of home field advantage.

We're 3-3 at home and 3-0 on the road oddly enough.
