Some Injury Updates

DHB

Darrius Heyward-Bey has been diagnosed with a strained neck in addition to a concussion, but has been released from the hospital.

Per the Raiders, Heyward-Bey is "resting at home," and expected to make a full recovery. It's the best-case scenario after DHB was knocked out cold in Sunday's win, but he's likely still staring at a multi-week absence. His injury leaves the Raiders with an unproven/ineffective trio of Rod Streater, Derek Hagan and Juron Criner behind Denarius Moore.

Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller

Coach Chan Gailey confirmed that Fred Jackson (knee) will practice this week.
Gailey made the comments on a Monday morning radio appearance. "I don't know if it'll be Wednesday or Thursday, but [Jackson] should practice some time this week. His recovery has been amazing," Gailey said. CBS' Jason La Canfora is reporting that Jackson has a real chance of playing in Week 4. If he can't go, Tashard Choice will draw the start. C.J. Spiller (shoulder) is out 1-2 weeks.

Forte

Bears coach Lovie Smith indicated Monday that Matt Forte (ankle) has a chance to resume practicing as soon as this week.

Smith stated that Forte has made "good progress," and missing just one game would obviously be well ahead of schedule for a player initially feared to be in danger of missing 4-6. The Bears face the Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 4. While we're not overly optimistic about Forte's chances of playing in that game, he appears to be recovering faster than anticipated.

First of all, DHB wasn't standing there, he was airborne. Secondly, it was a helmet to helmet hit, similar to how players can't hit the quarterback with the crown of their helmets in the QBs chest. Crown to face mask might be a better description.

As for why it wasn't a penalty? That's because the official looked at the two guy cutting in front of him instead of keeping his eyes on the play. If you notice in the first one, the official watches as the Raiders #20 pushes the Steelers defensive back out of the way, right as the collision occurs.

The Cowboys had a chance to buy the domain when it was auctioned in 2007. From the link:

The Revis injury is a HUGE loss to the Jets. No way they can keep blitzing the way Rex likes to without Revis shutting down 1/3 of the field.

Revis does hurt, but with or without Revis the Jets weren't making playoffs.. but on the positive side with Revis being out for teh season they will get a top 5 pick in the draft and maybe get a RB to help take pressure off their back up qb, i mean Sanchez

Oh here we go. I believe our record is 2-1, so how can you "knowingly" say that we had no chance to make the playoffs, especially considering the light schedule on the back end of the season. Maybe it's just that you are perpetual hater of the Jets lol.

This injury is really going to hurt because our defense is predicated on Revis' ability to shut down his side of the field. I'm interested to see how the 49ers game turns out. The next two weeks are definitely not easy but it gets a little lighter from there. Other than 2 games against NE and possibly that game at Seattle, there aren't exactly any more dominant teams left on the schedule. All other games are definitely winnable.
