I feel ya. This season is a complete and total disaster. I've seen absolutely nothing to suggest this Jags team is making any progress whatsoever. I'd be surprised if JAcksonville does;t have the worst record in the NFL this year.

Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner tells The Plain Dealer that team must determine if Brandon Weeden is the guy

"It's right to put Brandon on the list of important things we have to figure out and we have seven games left to do that," Banner said. "It's an extremely important question for this organization to get right."

With the Browns 2-7 at the bye, they're likely to end up with a high enough pick to draft a premier quarterback, which makes the last final seven games pivotal.

"The only reason I'm leaving he door open is, you could think he's the right answer and a year from now go, "Oh, gee, I thought he was but he isn't,' " Banner said. "So it's not like you're etching it in stone, but you certainly have to at least for your next off-season plan, make a determination as to whether in two years from now, when we're trying to be a championship-caliber team, is he good enough to lead us there?"

I know it's a new regime and they want to start over with their own guys, but if you don't give a first round pick at least a couple of seasons to show what he's got, that's just wrong.

You can draft a QB in the first round every year until you get the right guy, but if you don't surround him with playmakers, you give him no chance to succeed.

As a fan of their AFC North rival Ravens' I would suggest they get some WR's. No one is afraid of Cleveland getting a franchise QB since they never have anyone for him to throw at.

We've been outscored 153-44 at home this year. We're dead last on offense again with around 145 yards per game. Can't convert 3rd downs. This is probably an all-time low and obviously no signs of improvement as we are just getting worse each week. Even if we had MJD he still couldn't help our dreadful passing game.

We have a solid defense but it seems that they are on the field longer than the offense because we can't convert 3rd downs

EDIT: I bet anyone a million bucks that if we secure the 1st overall pick in April, we won't draft a QB.

I don't think gabert is the problem. Without a running game, the defense is playing pass all day. Without the deep threat, they're playing packed. Very small window for error. We need a couple of speed guys and another running back or two.

Gabbert may or may not be the problem, but without worthwhile people to throw to they'll never know.

At first Gabbert doesn't have the confidence. Somehow that negative energy spread throughout the entire team. Can't protect the QB for more than 3-4 seconds, can't hold on to the ball and most importantly we can't convert on 3rd downs. I think our percentage rate on 3rd downs is around if not less than 30%.

Gabbert is trying his best but he has not shown significant improvement in the pocket from a year ago. I know for a fact that a lot of blame has to go to the coaches play calling on offense but it pisses me off when we throw the ball and dump it to the flat for 2 or 3 yard gain especially when it's 3rd and long.

Now, we shown some improvement using the no huddle scheme last week against the Lions, and some last night vs. the Colts as we kept the defenses on their heels at times but once we get down into their territory we shoot ourselves in the foot getting at best a FG because we can't convert 3rd downs.

Our offense has plagued our team for the past 4-5 years and it's unbelievable that it's getting worse instead of showing any signs of improvement. Our defense can contend with any team but if we can't put points on the board from our offense we'll get blown out. If we're behind 10 points or more we're pretty much done.

We got 8 games left to improve and I say Mularkey needs to open up the playbook from the beginning for Gabbert and not wait until the 2nd half. We need to go vertical with Cecil Shorts, or even with Laurent Robinson as he's been showing up the past couple of weeks.

I'm still supporting Gabbert the rest of the year but like I said numerous times on this thread. If he doesn't show any significant improvement over the course of the 2nd half of the season. He needs to go! If we decide to keep him and call him our so called franchise QB, we're going to see the same results the next few years.

Yeah I'm not worried about MJD because when he comes back he's not going to be the same elite player because he's getting hurt here and there. First it's the knee, and now the foot. That's a sign of RB starting to breakdown. I love MJD and what he has done here but it's reality.

I'm worried about our QB situation for the future because Gabbert is not a leader. As a matter of fact. We don't have a leader to look up to on the field.

Your leader was MJD man, and Khan screwed the pooch on that one when he refused to negotiate new contract with him now that hes hurt you can kiss MJD goodbye wouldnt be shocked to see him move to like Giants or Packers

MJD is under contract through the 2013 season so he's not leaving anytime soon. If the Jaguars are willing to talk about a contract extension after the season I'm sure MJD would consider because even if he plays at a high level and stays healthy next season his value still won't be that high because teams aren't going to be willing to give MJD a big deal when he'll be 29 when the 2014 season starts, plus the Jaguars could threaten to use the franchise tag if MJD becomes a free agent.

Right, no question. MJD is our leader and has been since he took the starting role but he's not playing and who knows if he's going to come back this season healthy. As of right now we have no one to look up to for leadership. We're lost, this team is a mess! If we're going to improve it needs to start with a confident QB.

Buddy Nix on drafting QB: Bills 'need to address it this year'

Nix, on his weekly segment with the "Howard Simon Show," declared the Bills want to draft a quarterback in April. Last week, Nix said he wanted to make sure a franchise quarterback was in place before he left the team but didn't specify a timetable.

Nix suggested the Bills might not draft a quarterback with their first pick. He said he doesn't see a can't-miss quarterback in the upcoming draft class like there have been the past couple years.

The Bills have drafted one quarterback over the past five years. It was seventh-rounder Levi Brown from Troy in 2010.

it's strange how bad they've played this year yet put up a good fight against the Packers in GB. i think most, if not all of us believed they would get trampled by 20 or so, but they played a solid game for what they have on the field and what their record shows.

they just haven't been able to show even half of that drive in any game before or since (well, maybe in the win against the Colts earlier this year).
