Right now ROY is a close race but i honestly think its going to RG3, hes just that much better especially with Garcon back then the others. That may change tho if Indy and Seattle make playoffs.

I think Luck is being overrated because of the wins.

Indi's schedule this year has been ridiculously easy.

*EDIT* Let's hold off on Luck for ROTY until he plays Houston twice. Assuming Houston actually tries anyway.

The top 3 NFC East teams all have very difficult remaining schedules. The Giants have New Orleans, at Atlanta, at Baltimore, and Philadelphia. The Cowboys have at Cincy, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, and at Washington. The Redskins have Baltimore, at Cleveland, at Philadelphia, and at Dallas. I honestly have no idea who is going to win that division and it's not out of the question that an 8 win team emerges as the champion.

Giants step it up against good teams though, so they will probably beat Atlanta and Baltimore. Depends on how they view the Saints.

This is interesting coming from from an Atlanta fan. That game will be a big one tho.

I hope they beat both! Giants over Ravens would help me on both the NFC and AFC sides of my fandom.

if i were a falcons fan....i'd want them to be playing every game come playoff time. "matty ice" hasn't done a whole hell of a lot when he doesn't play wildcard weekend.

They claim they will be:

Quote:
Don’t expect Smith to pull his foot off the gas pedal if the Falcons do clinch the No. 1 seed. On his weekly radio show on 790TheZone with Dave Archer and Wes Durham, Smith said he’s playing to win.

“Ultimately, the number one thing for us is that we want to win as many football games as we can in the fourth quarter (of the season),” Smith said. “Then there will be sub-factors that we’ll concern ourselves with. Most importantly, we want to make sure that we go out and we play every game to win. We need to win. We need to win them all. We need to go 4-0 in the fourth quarter.”

Don’t even mention the resting of un-injured starters at this point.

“The only thing that is different through this last quarter of the season, we are out of the contact business,” Smith said. “We won’t practice in pads.”

The Falcons have had 10 padded practices and are allowed 14 under the new collective bargaining agreement.

“We need to keep our guys as fresh as we possibly can through this fourth quarter,” Smith said.

Hard to ignore a team that curb stomped San Fran and Green Bay, even if they are incapable of winning more than 50% of their games in a mediocre division.

I know Atlanta will be amped, even if anything's clinched. They need something big going into the playoffs to show themselves and everyone else that they can win those games.

Patriots receiver/returner Julian Edelman has a broken foot which will require surgery and will end his season. The Patriots signed Donte Stallworth last night. Stallworth had a strong season for the Pats in 2007 and was in training camp for the team earlier this year but was eventually cut.

Dennis Allen’s father dies

Quote:
After the Raiders loss on Sunday, coach Dennis Allen announced that he would be leaving the team until Wednesday to be with his ailing father.

He made it just in time to say his last goodbyes. The Raiders announced that Grady Allen died of cardiac arrest on Monday night at the age of 66 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.

The elder Allen was 66 years old and spent five seasons playing linebacker for the Falcons from 1968-1972. Before that, Grady Allen played for Texas A&M, an alma mater he shares with his son. Everyone at PFT sends their condolences to Dennis Allen and the entire Allen family on their loss.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Allen and his family, rip
