Gruden (or more likely his agent) is just trying to create leverage for Gruden. There was no way he was ever going to Tennessee and he wouldn't go back to the mess of a team Oakland has. It's going to take a couple years at least to rid the team of all of Al Davis' mistakes and poor management and Gruden wouldn't go to a situation where the team has no quarterback. Gruden has a great job at ESPN that pays very well and he's not going to leave that unless it's for a quality job.

Just a Great piece. I was fortunate enough to have seen him play in person 3 times (all at the Silverdome). Thus far, the 2 best docs on "It's a Football Life", this year, have been on ex-Lions.

Percy Harvin has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with an ankle injury. There's some speculation that Harvin could come back later this season but doesn't want to because he's unhappy with his contract and the team hasn't been very willing to give him an extension.

RIDICULOUS! Goodell is thinking about removing kickoffs. Not exactly new news but this idea of the replacement is just ludicrous. "After a FG or TD the team would RETAIN possession and it's 4th and 15 on their own 30." That's just absurd. Way too many teams will end up going for it when they're down in the fourth quarter. Kickoffs are way more safe than this idea. If they take kickoffs away can we really call it football anymore? |
