I do not think Pryor is the guy, but the Lions will need someone better than Hill to go to the next level. I hope it's Stafford.

It is fair. He was ranked ahead of brees, vick, roethlesberger and eli according to that user. I think that is ridiculous at this point. So you think he is better them they are at this point too?

Does anyone think the offseason player-run workouts have been beneficial for their respective team? As a Chiefs fan, it's hard to tell, given that the starters barely played in the preseason game and might not tomorrow either.

I don't know how much it will really help, but it did create a sense of camaraderie among the players and helped draft picks meet their new teammates and get a better understanding of the system.

As far as getting to know each other, I could see those pre-season workouts working, as far as getting better w/off. Or def. plays….i doubt it.

I mean, how hard were they really going to work on plays or formations or anything like that w/o coaches there.

Yes they could workout, knock the rust off and that would def. have been beneficial….but as far as gelling as an offense or defense, I don’t think it would’ve done much.

I get the camaraderie aspect of them, but two thoughts: 1) I keep seeing players getting injured and 2) teams that added a lot of FAs couldn't have practiced with their respective new teams. I guess we'll find out in the regular season.

I am not saying that I was just pointing out that him not leading his team to the playoffs(yet) shouldn't be the measuring stick for him as a QB. I think he will be better than a couple of those guys by the time he is finished, but not right now. Plus I am a Tampa fan so I might be a little bias.

well...rodgers was labled as mediocre before last season b/c he couldn't win in the playoffs...even though he threw for 400+ yards and 3 touchdowns in his ONLY playoff game.

a good QB will get his team to the playoffs...regular season means squat if u're sitting @ home in January.

That is a possibility. It definitely could happen. However, people keep quoting my posts and arguing against me that he is now. Same with stafford and romo. Potential to be great does not beat guys who already are.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to seem argumentative I was just standing up for my QB. Tampa gets little respect so I just had Josh's back.

He's what Jason Campbell should have been... I figured he'd be just like Campbell because he's a quite guy. Just seemed to do allot of things "good", but he's really looking to be an elite QB.

It didn't help that Campbell has a new offensive coordinator every year. In the 10 years since he graduated high school he's had 9 different offensive coordinators or play callers. It's hard to get a rhythm without any sense of continuity.

LOL @ this one... I wonder what Hester's wife thinks of this.

What I don't get is that why Pryor has to serve a suspension and Pete Carol who basically destroyed the USC football program, gets away. What about Reggie Bush who basically had to give back his Heisman? he didn't suffer any penalty. It has to be everyone who does wrong, suffers a penalty or nobody suffers. That pick and choose crap is nonsense. A player serving a NCAA penalty in the NFL is a joke.

Probably explains why it seems like he may actually have been getting worse over the years and not better. 24 days till the season starts for the Cowboys, still giving us 30% odds to beat the Jets.

Because that's what happens when commissioners in sports more or less have a job for life and can rule by decree.
