It was really bizarre. That 0-16 Lions team was nowhere remotely close to being the worst team of all-time. The Tampa Bay Bucs inaugural team that went 0-14 was the worst team in history by far. That 0-16 Lions team was just the most unlucky team of all-time.

As far as preseason goes I think the Patriots went 0-4 preseason the year they went 16-0. Like I said, preseason means nothing.

Even with Manning, I think this is the year where the Texans finally win the division. Wade Philips will really improve that defense.

Fan violence mars Raiders-49ers game

Saturday night’s Raiders-49ers preseason game was marred by violent incidents involving fans, including one man being badly injured in a beating in a Candlestick Park restroom, and two men getting shot in the parking lot afterward.

A 24-year-old man is at San Francisco General Hospital with what have been referred to as life-threatening injuries after he was shot following the game.

The victim was wearing a “F- the 49ers” T-shirt, and police detained a suspect who was wearing Raiders apparel.

A 20-year-old man was also shot and hospitalized with superficial wounds to his face. The two shooting victims were found separately, and it is not clear whether the shootings were connected.

And a 26-year-old man was reportedly taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was assaulted and knocked unconscious in a restroom during the game.

i wouldn't be surprised if this effects attendance in some way. especially for night games. with all this nonsense going on, i wouldn't want to go to these games. it certainly doesn't help that alcohol is readily available and the teams suck so that's sure to rile people up. and if tickets don't sell, there are less people to see / stop attacks like these.

i'm gonna guess the "F the 49ers" shirt was home made. can't imagine they sell that on nfl.com or any other site.

not saying it's okay to attack someone for such a shirt, but obviously if you wear that, at home or on the road (this was a "road game" for SF right?) some one is gonna be all pissy about it.

i googled "johnny white buffalo bills" and this was the first thing i clicked on...

Buffalo Bills RB Johnny White (head/neck) was taken off of the field Saturday, Aug. 20, strapped to a body board after his head was driven into the grass while be tackled cleanly. He was moving his left arm and head coach Chain Gailey said White would be returning with the team to Buffalo. White was cleared at the hospital and did not suffer major injury.

so it appears he will be fine. luckily!

Yeah you know you suck when your team tries to hand you the #1 spot and then takes the guy that was on the trading block and gives it to him. Heck, Bradie Quinn is having a much better camp than Tebow so far.
