Of course I'm happy they're back, but keep in mind Reaps, they are a divisional rival and are disliked as much as the Bengals and almost as much as the Steelers.

Except now they are not playing your team. I don't mind Minnesota GB or Chicago and they are division rivals for my team. I enjoy football, I like seeing Chicago for good Special teams and Defense, Minny for AP as he reminds me of Barry, and GB for Rodgers to WR connections. The only time I don't like them is when they play the Lions, or when there winning or losing directly affects the Lions.

There's the difference between us Reaps. I will NEVER chear for a rival team and will never take a rival player in any fantasy pool. The mere thought of chearing for a rival team and/or player makes me .

I hope the 49ers win, it was a risk playing Kaepernick over Smith and they should be rewarded for a gutsy move. It reminds me of Brady over Bledsoe, this could be the start of something special.

I have no love for either team thats playing in the Superbowl but I HATE the Baltimore Ravens more then any other team in the league right now. Its not because they beat the Pats last night, in fact my hats off to them because they played a good game, but its because I am tired of hearing Ray Lewis ranting and raving how God determines who wins in the NFL and its how because of God he is going to the Superbowl. Second you have a foul mouthed, big mouth, no class idiot like Suggs calling the Patriots and all their fans arrogent pricks from the top down. Thats class? Thats a champion (Which he aint...and never will be)? Suggs is a joke and I hope and pray that Kaepernick and the 49er's kick their asses all the way back to Baltimore. I have nothing but respect for Ray Lewis but stop the God thing because its getting irritateing and I am afraid its only just begun until the 49ers shut their mouths for good.....I hope! I wasnt going to watch the Superbowl but now I am and I am rooting for the 49ers. As for the Patriots? They will be back and dont think they wont. They have a young defense and they are being led by Belichick and Brady and as long as those two are around the Pats will always be at the top of the heap and fighting for the Superbowl trophy.

YUP...I didn't pay anything and got the giftcard for $25. Had we all paid $25 up front, the giftcard would have been for $50.

100% agree. I tried explaining this very thing to someone not too long ago, and she just couldn't get why I would care to watch other teams play other than my favorite which happens to be GB. The idea being, I love the sport on a whole, and it's not all about my favorite team. I love watching great players be great (Adrian Peterson comes to mind this year even if he literally STOMPED all over my team), I love watching the underdog/unfavored teams get it together and play great (Ravens end of season and playoffs). I respect the sport overall and will give credit to where it's due, regardless of how I personally feel about a player or a team.

Now, on the other hand, I get why people are hardcore and it's all about their team, and I respect that. But when they can't see beyond that doesn't make any sense to me. Heh, then again, she is a die hard Raiders fan so that might explain everything.

I agree with you for the most part on Ray Lewis. But the fact remains the Ravens talked junk all week about the Patriots and the Pats completely no-showed at home. That loss is all on the Pats.

I never said I wouldn't watch them play. I just won't chear for them...EVER. As a matter of fact I've got the full sports package so I can watch the rivals play and for my love of the games. (NHL, NFL & MLB). It's a lot of fun for me to watch them lose.

Sorry man, that wasn't directed at you. It was more in reference to my friend as she just doesn't seem to understand anything but her team. To her, it's an insult and a disgrace to your team if you divert any attention away, and doing so doesn't make you a fan of your team. No if's, and's, or but's.

Per Darren Rovell:

Nielsen: 49ers-Falcons drew 42M TV viewers. Ravens-Pats drew 47.7M TV viewers.

Being an immigrant from Europe is a total blessing when watching the NFL. Why? Because i don't get into any arguments about the NFL's teams. I didn't grow up in America, so i don't have a favorite team. I live in Texas, so it was cool to see a local team make it to the playoffs. However, i enjoyed watching the Patriots, the 49ers and most certainly the Broncos. To me, good football is good football, and i'm glad to see the Ravens Vs. the 49ers in the SB. I think it'll be a great game to watch come Feb. 3rd, and i'll be happy for whichever team comes out on top.

Honestly, i like the whole "rivalry" thing between teams and their players...but if that shit comes in between friendships, or creates verbal or physical conflict between football fans, it's just plain ludicrous to me. I grew up in Europe, so i know about rivalries in sports...that's probably why i've always shrugged my shoulders at them.
