The Colts have hired former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel as a gameday consultant. His main role will be consulting on replays. It's unknown whether he will have to serve a five-game suspension like Terrelle Pryor.

Steelers placed QB Byron Leftwich on injured reserve with a fractured left arm, ending his season.
He needed surgery last week. Leftwich, 31, has posted a 6:3 TD-to-INT ratio in spot duty over the past three seasons. The Steelers like Leftwich enough to give him another shot in 2012 camp, but we don't see him ever ascending to even a starting competition again. He'll be a free agent next spring.

The original post didn't contain the part about it being sarcasm but the thing is I think there is a legitimate case for him to be suspended. How can the NFL suspend Pryor for his transgressions but let his coach off the hook for lying about his knowledge of Pryor and the other players violations? If the NFL is going to punish players for things that happened in college they should punish coaches as well, especially when there's no debate that the coach knowingly broke the rules.

They frontloaded his contract by giving him $23 million over the first 3 years of the deal and now he feels underpaid once the big money has already been paid. I don't have a problem with it in the NFL. The league is already the least player-friendly of any major American sport with most money not guaranteed. If you take away a player's right to hold out you tilt things even more in the favor of owners. If owners don't have to live up to their end of contracts by being allowed to cut a player at any time why should a player have to honor his end of the deal?

LOL... replay consultant? Almost anybody could do that job. How the mighty have fallen.

Yes they went from 1-15 to 11-5 great (thanks to Parcells and Pennington J_E_T_S JETS JETS JETS!), but did nothing with it.

Matter of fact that was the only winning record in the past 5seasons. Pathetic!

They lost to the Browns and Lions last season.
I rest my case.

Oh yeah lets not forget they got busted selling "Home of the N.Y. JETS" t-shirts in their pro shop located on stadium grounds.

Hmm... not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Picturing him in a gold colored sweater vest is a frightening image. Maybe he's a better fit for Miami.

Haha, no thanks. I'm pretty sure he is done coaching, at least at a big school level. He's been busted at two separate programs.

I may be mistaken but didnt Briggs hold out 3 years ago to get that contract? Also if I remember correctly when Urlacher was injured Briggs couldnt do shit. He's riding on Urlachers coat tails. Tells me if I were the Bears I would cut and run.

They also beat the Packers and Jets so you can throw that argument out the window. They were 7-9. That is middle of the pack. There are lots of better franchises and lots of worse ones. They are stuck in the middle and have been for while. Just like I said.

Figure he just didn't advance enough as a cover guy. Much like Roy Williams in Dallas he could do the big play stuff, but with the game changing so much he really doesn't fit in with whats needed.

One of the more overrated players in the league, and one of the dirtiest ones. He definitely didn't deserve that Pro Bowl selection last season.
