The top 10 QBs will basically always end up with the most points on your team. What you're not understanding is the fact that you can still grab a top 10 QB in the later rounds. Don't waste a 1st (or 2nd or 3rd) round pick on a QB. You will miss out on RBs badly and regret it. I've been greedy before and gone with a QB in the 1st round... just a terrible idea.

5th round is where to take QBs this year. You can take it or leave it, but that's the truth.

I read someone on here saying that his QB had by far the most points on his fantasy team. Lol durr... that's usually how it goes. What that guy did not understand is that instead of getting Rodgers in the 1st, you could get the likes of Brady, Ryan, Kaepernick, Wilson, Stafford, RG3, Luck, and Romo in the 5th and beyond. Sure, Rodgers will outscore them. RB is always, always, always more important than QB.

QB is so deep - especially this year. RB is never deep. Don't ever take a QB over a RB in the 1st round. 9 times out of 10 you will lose your league. In fact, you'll likely be one of your league's bottom feeders.

I agree with most of what you said, but WR is more important. I always feel it's necessary to have two RBs and two WRs before you take a TE. Of the WRs you said were gone when you had your 2nd pick, Roddy probably would've been my #1 on the board as well. But I think you should've gone RB/WR or vice versa (since you had back-to-backs) rather than WR/TE.

I think Vincent Jackson has a monster year. He already had a very good year last season (1300 yards, 8 TDs). He's probably the one guy I'm hoping falls to me late in the 3rd or early in the 4th depending on where I pick. Love Torrey Smith as well. He's Flacco's only legit target, and while I've said Flacco is as average as they come, he can throw the football and Smith will top 1000 yards and 8+ TDs.

And despite what you said about Peyton and the Broncos having too many weapons (and that's true), I still like all three of their WRs - assuming they're taken in the right spots. I would take Thomas in the 3rd in a heartbeat. I would take Welker or Decker in the 5th or 6th - and yes, they do fall that far now. The key is to not have more than one of them though, of course.
Guys...I truly think their numbers will dwindle from last year. I'm very confident in my draft strategy and ignoring these 2. I say, GOOD LUCK, to whoever takes them.

I'll be reporting back here this weekend once I start drafting. I've never understood why everyone does their drafts before preseason ends.

I'm in so many leagues this year... it's gonna be hard to keep up. I think I'm sitting at 7 leagues (4 of which are for money). One draft Friday, one draft Saturday, two drafts Sunday, two drafts Monday, and one draft Wednesday.

$1200 up for grabs throughout my money leagues.

What players are you referring to? Kaepernick and Wilson? Yea, they're risky, but I might go for one of them in the 5th/6th and come back and get Eli as my backup in the 10th round in case things don't work out.

But I don't see why they can't continue to play at a high level. I'm a huge Wilson fan, and I think Kaepernick is incredible.

We do a live draft. It's very hard to get 24 guys on the same schedule.. We're not young most of us are married with kids and what not.. We take whatever date is available that works for everyone

Two of mine are live drafts... And we have a couple guys who are married now and another who's engaged. No kids yet, luckily.

I figured 4th and 5th round is where qb's would be drafted, but man had a draft over the weekend And 5 qb's were taken in the second round, Brees, Rodgers, Keap, Russell Wilson and Peyton manning, would have been slim pickings if I waited, so I grabbed Julio with last pick in 2nd round then Matt Ryan with first pick in third round

I took Rodgers with my 2nd round pick. I'm glad I did with the way our draft played out. I got 3 solid rbs though to go with Rodgers. WR is an issue for me though.

Yea, not a bad choice. I'd be all over the Julio/Ryan duo this season. Julio should be having a breakout season.

I still would've waited on QB though. The fact that those clowns were reaching for QBs meant that there must have been some great skill position players falling. I would've taken advantage of that and made those guys pay for taking QBs so early.

It's a chain reaction. Once one guy starts picking a certain postition, people panick and follows suit.

Anyone looking to join another league PM me or follow the link in my sig. I'm actually run 2 blu-ray.com "members only" leagues this year. The plan was 1, but it filled rather fast and were currently filling league 2. The draft for "league 2" will be held saturday night at 8est ( I know) or possibly later if needbe. Both leagues will be ESPN based and consist of a $10 Amazon gift card buy in. Winner takes 80%, second place gets their $10 back so free entry essentially. Then the team with the highest regular season points scored takes the other $10, that could possible go to 1st or second place to add to their winnings. Both leagues are PPR, and have yardage incentives. No IDP. And only 1 starting QB. Like I said league 1 is full and I'm hoping for 10-12 for league 2, but will settle for 8 if we can't fill past that.

I would totally have joined a league here, but I'm way maxed out at 7 leagues. It's already going to be stressful as it is.

I swore to myself I'd do 3 teams max this season, but I just can't say no.

For those wondering, got my Madden 25 Anniversary Edition. It comes with a username and password that you use at a specific site, and it logs you right in. It will suck having to remember this sheet (or storing it in my google drive) all year long, but it's not the issue people were concerned about.
