If the Ravens fail to make or win a playoff game, this would be the 9th year in a row that the defending Superbowl champs failed to win a playoff game.

That alone made me shocked at how many were predicting a repeat Superbowl for them.

People were predicting Baltimore to repeat? Even the Ravens fans I know were not predicting much from them this season. You don't repeat by dismantling a championship team.

Ravens might finish last in their division.

Bengals have no excuses not to cruise to a division title this year.

The rating/viewers was actually higher this year than last year.

14.9 rating/25.1 milllion viewers last night compared to 14.7/23.9 last year.

The early articles were based off the overnight rating which naturally was higher last year since it was cowboys/giants both big market teams but when the smaller markets were then factored into the final # last night actually beat last year.

Some of them said the Ravens would be even better and win their division again. I wonder if they're still that stupid after last night.

You can't expect to lose that many players and still be a good team. Yea, they added Canty, Dumervil, Huff, and drafted Elam. But outside of Dumervil, they don't really have a better player coming in to fill the voids.

Flacco just isn't very good. I don't care what he did in the playoffs... He doesn't do that consistently enough.
I love how people said losing Ray Lewis and Ed Reed would ruin this team. These of course being the same people at the beginning of last season who said they were too old and dragging the defense down.

Jim Harbaugh and the staff filled any hole that showed up. A lot of times with better talent like Dumervil. The reason last nights game went so badly was because mostly the Dennis Pitta injury. Him and Flacco had developed a rapport and losing him at the end on the preseason caused the biggest problem because there was zero time to start meshing with any replacements.

Then we lost Jacoby Jones (our #2 WR and a dynamite return specialist) and Micheal Oher.

We were an 11-5 or better team, now I see 8-8. Sometimes you just can't overcome injuries. Especially this early in the season.

I think you were more like an 8-8 team before the season and now you might be a 5-11 team.

Just so it is clear to all, it was one game, on the road and in high altitude. Cut the Ravens some slack already. There's plenty of time to figure things out and I expect Flacco to play better and not have to attempt 62 passes a game.

I don't have to cut them any slack. They were a .500 team to begin with..now it looks worse. With only 16 games,1 game can make a difference..not like they have 150+ here

Still happy to see the Ravens waste all that $$ on Flacco

I was looking up some of Mark Sanchez's worst plays on Youtube. Turns out when you type in Mark Sanchez these are the most searched for videos. There seems to be a theme here...

Mark Sanchez butt fumble
Mark Sanchez fumble
Mark Sanchez dancing
Mark Sanchez interception
Mark Sanchez highlights
Mark Sanchez booed
Mark Sanchez booed at Knicks game
Mark Sanchez flinch
Mark Sanchez pick six
Mark Sanchez runs into lineman

Looks like the ravens borrowed Mike d'antoni as there Defensive coordinator until the NBA season starts.

What? .500 teams lose eight games. You're saying 8-7 can no longer happen because of a bad half of football ?

I may well be wrong and they could be terrible all year. I certainly won't draw that conclusion after week 1 however.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver/returner Jacoby Jones could miss four to six weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee, according to a Baltimore Sun report.

The Sun, citing league sources, reports that Jones had an MRI on Friday, which revealed the injury. The Ravens will consider free agents to bolster their receiving corps, according to the report.

And I love how you completely ignored the half dozen other players I listed.

Losing the murderer and Reed is a big deal. The murderer was the team's heart and soul and Reed always came up with huge plays. Their departures combined with the six other departures

Had the Ravens only lost the murderer and Reed, I would still expect them to win the division. But losing Pollard, Ellerbe, Kruger, Williams, Birk, and Boldin on top of losing two first ballot Hall of Famers who are arguably the best all time at their positions... Sorry, but it's not plausible to expect an 11-5 season and/or playoffs.

Also Pitta was out before preseason even began.

And yes, I agree with the other guy who said before last night, the Ravens were an 8-8 team. Now they could be a 5-11 team.

Might as well start clownin' for Clowney.
