According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cowboys are set to sign Jason Witten to an five-year, $37 million contract extension that includes $19 million guaranteed.
Witten is set to make $3.641 million plus a $1 million roster bonus in 2012, and this extension will keep him in a Cowboys uniform through 2017. The contract is comparable to the one signed by Antonio Gates last July, with one less year and slightly less guaranteed money. A Jason Garrett favorite and consummate professional, Witten should have no trouble living up to this contract if he can stay healthy. Now 29, this will be the last big payday he sees.

like most (should be ALL) of you, i am so incredibly excited to have football back

i've freaking been up since 5:00 am, i've got got burgers ready to go out, a fridge full of ice cold refreshments, and a plethora of football-centric snacks ready to be mowed down

i'm super excited especially for my Houston Texans to win the AFC South this year - finally! and while i wish Peyton was playing so we could whoop him up (i'm sure Colts fans will constantly remind Texans fans that we only won the division because he was gone - IF we win the division, *knock on wood* ) i'll still be happy to win the division. any way they do it. as long as it's not like Seattle last year with a losing record

i didn't even look to see what games will be airing up here in Wisconsin, but i hope they're good ones. last few years i get all excited and then i have to watch some pooper teams play. luckily last year started bad (Detroit vs Chicago) but the game was entertaining and watching Cutler get his ass handed to him never gets old

I've got Chiefs-Bills, Bears-Falcons, and Vikings-Chargers on my local stations. I hate how my local CBS affiliate always shows the Chiefs, who are not that popular in my area. I'll stick with the RedZone channel.
