diminish seahawks/niners or packers/bears just so some team that lost their division can still have a home playoff game? GTFO
Im not sure why it would diminish them ?

Teams would still fight to win the division because that would still gaurantee a playoff spot it just wouldnt gaurantee a home game.

I dont like reseeding though i would keep as is.

My predictions for the weekend:

KC, Cin, GB, & Phi

SF should beat GB but I just have a feeling GB will take this game.

Other random thoughts:

Cutler contract is 2 years too long.

I'm fine with reseeding if there is a 2 win margin between division winner and wildcard team.

In reality Cutler's contract is a three-year, $54 million deal with four one-year options. After the third year the deal has no remaining guaranteed money and since the deal doesn't have a signing bonus they could cut him at any time and not take a salary cap hit.

It's a little odd that they would pay him $22.5 million his first season because usually the point of a long-term deal is to less the initial cap impact and that's a big cap hit. Most of the time these deals are structured with large signing bonuses and small initial base salaries to spread the cap hit over multiple years. However, right now the Bears are about $30 million under next year's cap, and that should grow as they'll either cut or restructure Julius Peppers' contract, so they could afford to front-load the deal.

GB would have finished much better than 8-7-1 if the team was healthy. Both the 9ers and Pack have changed since opening day. Capers job may be on the line too if the GB defense is embarrassed like they have been in the last 2 games with Frisco.

I'm sure one or two of those games will be displaced after this weekend.

The Bengals have announced their game has sold out, largely thanks to Kroger and Procter & Gamble buying a large number of tickets. There will officially be no blackouts this weekend.

Schedules are way too unbalanced as-is to reseed based on record IMO.

I do find the concept of eliminating divisions and having each team play 15 conference games, playing each team once, and then one inter-conference game an interesting concept though.

You don't remember the days when the Cardinals and Cowboys was actually a fierce rivalry?

they reseed and what becomes of those division games late in the season? they mean less

add playoff reseeding to the list of knee jerk moves being considered

who the hell is spearheading this crap anyway? must be the guys who can't play on the road and needs to play at home, they need to shut up and go on the road to win the SB like some of the recent SB winners

your record gets you in to the playoffs and winning the division gets a home game, why upset that balance?

if you want to talk about unfair, a first round bye is way more helpful than having the first game at home

it's amazing that seahawks and niners fans going down each other's throats this week and they're not even playing each other, niners are playing GB

You lost me ?

Like this year packers/bears week 17 even if there was reseeding the winner of that game would make the playoffs while the loser is out.

Its still a playoff elimination game.

How does reseeding make that division game mean less ?
