I went to bed beginning of the 3rd qtr. It was competitive, but I knew NE was going to pull it off.

For me, I'm watching football all day Sunday.

As for Star Wars, I'll try to watch an episode at least once a week depending on my busy schedule.

I know that all the love by the media today will be towards Brady (and deservely so) but Wes Welker has become there 2nd MVP on their team.

That's a good idea. Make them last. Of course, I've been waiting years for Friday to come. I'll definitely watch the Packers game on Sunday, but after that, I'm going into Star Wars mode and don't know just how long I can make them last. I'll probably watch each one a couple of times. I've been avoiding watching any of them the past few years because I've stopped watching SD movies.

Rodgers on Sanchez GQ Shoot
Quote:
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Mark Sanchez laughed off comments Wednesday from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who said Sanchez's photo spread in GQ magazine is "embarrassing" and "terrible."

"I think he was, obviously, making a joke out of it, and that's fine, giving me a good ribbing like the guys on our team," the New York Jets' quarterback said. "That's totally understandable, but I'm just happy that it ended up working out for a good cause and we got to partner with two great companies and one great charity."

Rodgers didn't sound like he was joking. During an interview with ESPN Milwaukee, the reigning Super Bowl MVP was handed a copy of the magazine.

"I mean, look at this here," Rodgers said. "That's embarrassing. Page 94 of the GQ thing here. That's terrible."

Rodgers went on to say that's "not really my style," and that he likes to maintain his privacy in the offseason.

Sanchez has been getting teased by teammates and coaches since the magazine hit the stands almost a month ago. Now it has spread outside the Jets' locker room. Victor Butler, a backup linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, referred to him as "Sexy Sanchez" on an ESPN Dallas radio show.

"Oh yeah, good looking," Butler cracked. "How could you not want to sack a guy like that?"

The Cowboys open the 2011 season against the Jets on Sunday night.

"If the refs give me enough time, maybe I'll whisper a couple of sweet nothings in his ear," Butler said. "I have his GQ if he wants to sign it for me. I'd really like that. I really want him to sign the cover of this for me. It'd be nice."

Sanchez took Rodgers' shot in stride, noting that the clothing company that supplied his outfits for the shoot donated money to Tuesday's Children, a charity for children and families impacted by 9/11.

"It worked out for the better and I can take a little razzing for the way it ended up," Sanchez said. "I know he's just joking around, so that's totally fine."
At Butler's comments.

Skip Bayless you are a douche!

Anyone else catch Jaws says the word sh*t last night? I was watching it with my roommate and we were both shocked and rewound it to make sure we didn't mishear it. He later apologized for it.

Haha, YES! I was doubting myself and thought for a second, maybe he said "Chet"...but no, wait, who the heck is Chet? I think I did hear him correctly...seemed like about half an hour later he apologized and then I knew I didn't just imagine it.

EDIT - I didn't think it was Jaws, either, I thought it was Gruden. Oops!

I thought he said it...... and then thought maybe I was just hearing things.....

Then he apologized!

EDIT:

yeah... it certainly was a pretty good span of time between him saying it, and him apologizing.

I don't know how I missed that S-bomb.

I thought my fish were supposed to have a decent D.

Small positive... Henne was pretty good.

like I suspected the 933 total passing yards between Brady and Henne set a new NFL record

I'm not a fan of Henne but I like seeing people improve as a player, too bad he was going up against the Patriots

I dont understand why he bothered, it's late night and stuff happens, not to mention with the mics they place on the sidelines i heard a lot worse from the players a few times.

Heck i could never do this job because i would slip most likely 5-6 times an hour lol.

Several records this past weekend:

Quote:
1. Eight return touchdowns (five on punts, three on kickoffs) set the all-time record for any weekend. Coaches always say that the first week of the season is a special teams kind of week. Guess it’s not just a cliche. Take that, touchback!

2. There were more passing yards in Week One (7,842) than any week in NFL history. To put that in perspective, teams averaged 245 yards passing. And this included the Alex Smith-Tarvaris Jackson showdown.

3. 14 quarterbacks passed for over 300 yards. That’s also the most for any week in NFL history.

4. Michigan had a good Saturday, and Monday night wasn’t bad for their former quarterbacks. Tom Brady and Chad Henne combined for the most net passing yards (906) in a game in NFL history.
