I am literally not making any excuses. I said we didn't deserve the playoffs. I didn't want us in the playoffs. And yes, we sucked this year. Never said otherwise. I waa just looking back at what could have been if our returner didn't fumble and Fitzpatrick turned the ball over one less time... it would mean a division title.

Well your Lions suck with a QB and the best WR in the game. I saw the other day that Stafford is 2-22 against winning teams. At least you guys finally fired Schwartz. He was an idiot... big part of the reason we lost in the playoffs to Flacco as a rookie. Dumbass didn't blitz him at all. Rookie QB in a road playoff game and a hostile environment and you don't blitz him. Unforgivable.

I'm not saying that they're the Jags or anything. With a smart new coach and new QB that team could turn around quick.

I know our Lions suck but I don't know where you're pulling that 2-22 # He's been QB'n since '09

Against teams that finish the season with a winning record.

You're a lot farther than closer to making the playoffs. And your salary cap isn't looking too bright either.
Again, I was only speculating... I never once said we should've been in the playoffs or complained that we weren't. I was simply saying that it's a lot closer than people realize and it's annoying how everyone drops to their knees for Luck when he's not THAT great... though he did impress me yesterday.

If we lose Verner in the offseason it would be because he's asking for way more than he's worth. Salary cap actually looks fine once we cut CJ, Wimbley, Stewart, and Fitzpatrick, so I'm not sure what you're looking at. Those players did nothing to help us this season, so it won't hurt.

This whole stupid discussion we're having happened because someone said I shouldn't be excited for the future of this franchise now that we'll be having new ownership, a new coach, and a new QB. I only used the close games and hypotheticals to give reason for why there could be hope for the future. If all this change doesn't get you excited all while you've been able to come close to the playoffs three out of the last five seasons with no QB and terrible coaching, I don't know what will.

Despite sucking lately, the Titans are still in the top 10 in wins over the last 15 seasons. So the majority of teams have had it worse.

Idk why you guys are on my ass. Your teams suck too.

My bad... Meant to add "against winning teams" to that.

Oof. Stafford obviously has some mechanical flaws he needs to work through.. he side-arms too much etc etc but he still has a cannon and is breaking NFL records. I still have faith.

We need a #2 WR though, pretty bad.

Something against Nate Burleson? What you really need is a consistent TE to take away coverage from your outside receivers, all the best offenses have a tight end that can attack the middle of the field and some that can beat safeties deep.

I've never been relieved to see the team I'm routing against score a touchdown. Right then I figured perfect, with Brees and that running game the Eagles have no answer for, the Saints will run the clock down and kick a field goal. Sure enough it went exactly as planned.

I'm just happy to have made it to the playoffs in our first year under a new head coach. The simple fact is the Saints outplayed us last night. I'm not going to sit here and blame the refs, hell I feel that the game was called perfectly. There's always next year and hopefully we can come back stronger. Good luck to anyone's teams that are still in it, as for me I'll proudly be wearing my Eagles gear today.
As least you didn't piss away a 28 point lead like the Chiefs did yesterday.

Happy for Rob, a DC that actually has a brain and makes adjustments, do well and make it to the divisional round but I doubt they will beat the Seahawks. Packers-49ers is probably the game of the weekend, wish there were someway they could both lose.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Sunday Countdown that Dolphins coach Joe Philbin and GM Jeff Ireland "appear to be safe," but there is "tension" between the two.
It's likely creating an awkward dynamic at Fins headquarters. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported in late December that "no one in Miami is safe," but owner Stephen Ross has made no moves since. The Dolphins signed Ireland to a head-scratching contract extension before the 2013 season, which was likely fully guaranteed. Ross is believed to be pushing for Philbin to fire offensive assistants, including coordinator Mike Sherman.

Since 2009, the team that Philadelphia plays in its home opener has gone on to win the Super Bowl.

The Eagles first home game in 2009 was against New Orleans. The Saints beat the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

In 2010, Green Bay opened up Philadelphia's home schedule. The Packers beat the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.

The streak didn't end in 2011 because that's when the Eagles opened up their home schedule with the New York Giants, the same Giants that beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.

In 2012, the first regular season game at Lincoln Financial Field featured the Eagles against -- you guessed it, the Ravens. Of course, the Ravens went on to beat the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
I have a feeling the streak will end this afternoon. If the Chargers manage to win the Super Bowl though, that's some crazy coincidence...

Been rearranging my media setup (new floor speakers to prepare for new TV and new record player stand) and Blu-Ray collection, and almost forgot about the early game!
