Interesting notes from Jeff Darlington about the Dolphins GM job:

Plenty of people around the NFL tell me the role still merits major consideration for top-tier candidates. Now, it’s up to Ross to sell it.

It’s a coveted job for number of reasons: 1. One of healthiest caps in NFL. 2. Young, talented QB. 3. Strong nucleus. 4. Non-frugal owner.

And now for the most twisted reason of all why some big names around the NFL would be willing to take the Dolphins' job...Ross stuck by Ireland over Sparano. Now he’s a Philbin/Aponte guy over Ireland. His allegiances change. People around NFL are taking note. Potential hires (all of which have healthy visions of their self worth) recognize this important factor: Win the owner and win the power.

The Pats during those two runs had the 2nd best and the 8th best defenses (measured in Pts/Game) in the NFL.

You are dreaming to think that those were pretty bad defenses.

*EDIT* Had the wrong year for one of them, not that it really matters, it actually improved the Pats D.

I does not surprise me, if you are a season holder the 100's section face value is $204.00 a tix. so multiply by 10 home games if your team makes it to the championship game it is a lot of money for one season. imagine it every year and prices keeps going up every year as well.

Depends on where your seats are in the 100s. Mine are in the 100s but only about $160 each

I bought a ticket from a season holder, first row on sec 136. face value is $204

Weird. On gilletes website the most for a season ticket holder for individual game is 185.....211 for non season ticket holder. sec 136 is my price range...$169. I wish we had bills prices for tix

I can get you 40 yard line row 14 for the playoff game for $190 each ...tons of tickets out there

He's 100% right. He would've had 1500+ yards on any other team... or maybe similar yards in a limited, specialist role.

I'd probably still cut him and just hope he goes to the NFC. He still has the speed. The OL has been a much bigger issue. Ever since Mawae retired our OL went from top 5 to bottom 5 in no time.

Bengals OC Jay Gruden, a favorite for Redskins HC job, interviewed Wednesday with Washington and is scheduled to meet today with Vikings.

Sounds like the Redskins were worried they were going to lose Jay Gruden because per Adam Schefter they've agreed to a contract and he'll be announced as coach this afternoon.

It's interesting to see the list of coaches Snyder has hired since buying the Redskins in 1999:
Terry Robiskie - no NFL head coaching experience
Marty Schottenheimer - vast NFL head coaching experience
Steve Spurrier - no NFL head coaching experience
Joe Gibbs - vast NFL head coaching experience
Jim Zorn - no NFL head coaching experience
Mike Shanahan - vast NFL head coaching experience
Jay Gruden - no NFL head coaching experience

It seems like Snyder can't decide if it's better to have an established coach, so after someone with no experience fails (and under Snyder they all fail) he goes back to an experienced NFL coach. When Gruden gets fired in 2016 I fully expect Snyder to pay a massive amount of money for an experienced, past his prime coach.

You're right by saying that we're not a very special team in that when someone says "Titans" nothing really comes to mind other than maybe CJ, and no one is scared of us.

I will say this is a very talented team though.

Just hire Bevell, Roman, or Zimmer and we'll be off to a good start.

Maybe the bengals know they are going nowhere with gruden...his play calls were horrendous in that game. GL redskins.
