But Janikowski is a beast and one hell of a kicker, hes improved every year and his accuracy is only getting better... In the pregame warm ups he was hitting 70 yard fg's with ease
I'm really shocked he hasn't made a 64+ yarder in his career. It was funny when Lane Kiffin (obviously a jab at Al Davis) sent Janikowski out to kick a 76 yard FG.

Looked it up and you're right. I won't rag on the Jags for passing on Moss at #9 that draft. They took Fred Taylor. Moss probably could have been at least top-5 overall, but his "issues" both on and off the field hurt him. And in the end his detractors were partially right. He was a HOF talent who had a bad habit of quitting on his team and wearing out his welcome rather fast. Kinda like a Manny Ramirez of football.

I wonder when David Garrard is going to be signed. I think teams don't have to pay for his 8 Million salary and he's not in a rush to fill in as a temporary patch, but more of a team player to win a Championship. That's a lot to ask, but I don't think he's really capable of doing that. He's a starter for sure, but not good enough to lead a team deep into the playoffs, and I'm saying this as a huge fan of his.

Brian Urlacher is dealing with a family emergency and his status for Sunday's game at New Orleans is unknown. He is reportedly in Arizona dealing with a matter involving his mother and is expected to be gone for several days.

I'll go ahead and admit it, I'm suprised that my team (Colts) haven't contacted/signed him yet. It's a pretty safe bet that Collins won't make it through 15 more games, and if Peyton isn't coming back this year (it's rumored sadly) then why not sign a QB who knows this division?

Yeah I honestly don't think the combination of Painter and Collins will lead the Colts to more than 4 wins this year, not sure what the executives for the Colts are waiting for.

I think Garrard only wants to play if the situation is right. He's got plenty of money and his salary for this season would probably only be around $1 million and he might not think that is enough to uproot his life. He may be waiting to see if a QB for a playoff contender gets hurt and if that doesn't happen he could sit out the season. Garrard's agent claims he's been contacted by three teams so he's got options if he truly wanted to play.

Painter had 1, count it 1 good game, and HELLO that 1 game was a pre-season game. Can't count on him in the reg season.

And btw, Jim Irsay should STOP tweeting, I mean geez.

Well think about it. The only times you can attempt a 60+ yarder would either be with a very comfortable lead in the second half or it's the last play of either half. Anytime else and your just asking to be scored on when the kicker most likely misses and your opponent has great field position.

Polians inability to retool their defense is why they lost so big Sunday, even with a healthy Manning they lose that game Sunday by two td's imo.

Imagine if Garrard played with an offensive line with the Colts. He wouldn't have to worry so much about pressure. He's accurate for the most part, but his problem is holding the ball way too long which makes him look very bad at times.

I bet if the Rex Grossman didn't play well Sunday against the Giants. I would probably expect Garrard to fill in, but since we don't know the 3 teams that contacted him. Who knows what's going to happen right now.

They've had so long to plan down the road (steelers, pats, exc.) I think its funny they're now scrambling for both a qb and a defense. But like Wolvie said I bet they win 4 games and get Luck

Dez Bryant is actually here, but he's not dressed out. He's riding the exercise bike in the tunnel. At least he'll get mental reps.

No surprises in the Player of the Week awards. In the AFC the Offensive award went to Tom Brady, the defensive to Terrell Suggs, and the special teams to Sea Bass (Sebastian Janikowski). In the NFC offensive went to Aaron Rodgers, defensive to Brian Urlacher, and special teams to Ted Ginn.
