Sure, because teens always do and say what their parents tell them to do. If you don't think young athletes don't look up to professional athletes, even if it is for only their play on the field, then I don't know how to respond.

So you are equating Sherman's behavior to celebrating a play? And yes, that would be frowned upon in most business situations.

Again, has nothing to do with how Sherman conducted himself.

I'm less concerned about kickoffs. But are TDs now 7 points? Or still 6? If they're 6, then it's the same as 2 FGs, which I think is crap. If it's 7, it erases some of the intrigue of an 8 or 16 point game. Think about how different the NE/Denver game would be. When it was 26-10 and NE scored, they had a shot to make it a 1-score game. Now? It's either 26-16 or 26-17 and they still need 2 more scores.

The extra point is almost automatic," Goodell said. "I believe we had five missed extra points this year out of 1,200 some odd (attempts). So it's a very small fraction of the play, and you want to add excitement with every play.

"There's one proposal in particular that I've heard about. It's automatic that you get seven points when you score a touchdown, but you could potentially go for an eighth point, either by running or passing the ball, so if you fail, you go back to six

This could get stupid and fast. So 6 7 or 8 in this case. That is ****ing stupid

lol.... that would be awesome.... it's 21-13, you score a TD, it's 21-20.... but you go for "1"(?) and miss, and it becomes 21-19.

Might as well put on an XFL jersey if we go this route

Please. It was clear he was bored in the NFL due to the lack of challenge compared to the XFL.

I wouldn't mind having it so a TD is 6 points and just do away with the extra point, having forced 2 point conversions.

If nobody volunteers, the NFL can force any of the following teams into dong "Hard Knocks". I'd put money on the Giants.

Bears
Bills
Cardinals
Giants
Jaguars
Raiders
Rams

Nope. They can't force a team if they fit any of the following criteria:
a) New head coach
b) Made playoffs in either of the last 2 years
c) Appeared on the show in the last 10 years

So why are the Cowboys not on the list?

Seems like they'd be the team of choice. Love em or Hate em people would watch them in droves.

*EDIT* Oh, they were the team in 2008. I forgot that.

Wouldn't it have been 24-9 instead of 26-10 if we take away the extra point and keep TD's at 6? The NE TD would then have made it 24-15 and with a 2-point conversion it's 24-17. Still a 1-score game. The difference, though, is now NE can win it with another 2-point conversion if Denver doesn't score.

But regardless, it still SUCKS if they take it away.

You're right, damn societal standards! Maybe the Purge should become a reality!

He's free to act anyway he sees fit. But we are also free to like it or not. There are positive and negative consequences for every action.

I thought i saw that some math guy ran a study & came to the conclusion that it would actually pay off with more pts over the course of the season by going for 2 pts every time rather then just kicking the xtra point.
