He should! I hear Papa John's is hiring in Omaha!

The same could be said about Elway until his final two seasons. The same could also be said about Jim Kelly, who never won a Super Bowl. I regard both of those QB's among the greatest of all time.

It's been clear since half way through the season that Seattle was the best team in the league. Most years I have no idea who's going to win the Super Bowl. This year I should have bet. The last time I felt is confident about a team was the 1994 49ers. It's not about Peyton being a bad player. Clearly the guy is great and he has his Super Bowl win. He took Indy from the dregs of the league and gave them a Super Bowl win. He made Denver a Super Bowl contender overnight (yeah they were a playoff team the year before he joined but far from legit contenders).

Elway's SB numbers were actually far worse than Peyton's. Even in his last two, which were wins. In total elway threw 3 TD and 8 picks in the big game. In his two SB wins he threw 1 TD, 2 picks. Terrell Davis carried the Broncos to those two titles.

Manning really has to count himself lucky that he played Rex Grossman in the Super Bowl. He could be 0-3 in Super Bowls and then people would REALLY be calling him a choke artist.

If Romo was on even an average team, his story would change, because win or lose he'd actually be in the playoffs.

Instead Romo is on a f'in terrible team, which Romo carries to 8-8 every year and then gets blamed for them not being better.

I predicted this in a post literally the second the commercial aired and sure enough I was right. The bigots are freaking out over the multilingual Coke ad that aired during last night's game. Deadspin has a rundown of the most idiotic comments posted about the ad. In summary: "Go Murica'!"

I'm a pretty conservative guy, and I had no issues with the commercial. Hell, I liked it quite a bit. People need to get over it.

The NFL got awful lucky with the weather. Today in New York it's already been snowing and they're supposed to get 5 to 8 inches of snow. This could cause some big problems with most people trying to get out of town today.

Yeah, it's really coming down hard right now in Pennsylvania. I picked the right day to take off.

The truth is the QB always gets way more praise than he deserves when his team wins and way too much criticism when his team loses. Having said that, in spite of last night's debacle that doesn't change the facts and the facts are statistically Peyton Manning is one of the most dominant QB's of all time. Is he THE all time greatest? That will be argued to the end of days. There are probably 5-10 QB's that you could make that argument for, but there is absolutely no question that Peyton Manning is IN that discussion.

He's obviously one of the top 10 to play the game, that is not up for debate. But his 1-3 Super Bowl record is surely something that a lot of people are going to hold against him. To me, Montana and Brady are the two greatest of all time. Montana because he was such a winner and great leader in big games. Brady because he has done so much in his career with marginal talent around him.

Not that it matter much but Peyton is actually 1-2 in Super Bowls, not 1-3. I agree with your points though.

I think Johnny Unitas is still the all time greatest QB. He won 3 championships prior to the NFL/AFL merger. He was extremely dominant!

After him, yeah I'd probably say Joe Montana for the modern era. After that there can be a lot of arguments for 3, 4, & 5. Brady is in the conversation but so is Elway. So is Peyton. So is Favre. So is Marino. I just find kind of funny that Marino was regarded as one of the greatest for so long and he NEVER won a superbowl. Peyton has managed to win one, he's surpassed all of Marino's records, yet for some reason people are holding him to a higher standard than they did Marino. Why? If Marino was regarded as one of the all time greatest with no Superbowl wins, SURELY Peyton should be with one win and with now better stats.

interesting stat.

Manning is the fourth quarterback to reach the Super Bowl after leading the NFL in both passing yards and touchdown passes during the regular season. The others were Tom Brady (2007), Kurt Warner (2001) and Dan Marino (1984).

They all lost by a combined score of 118 - 55

For a long time I've been saying you can make an argument for Unitas as the best QB of all-time. Problem is most people compare stats between different eras, which isn't fair. Back when Unitas played QB's generally had more picks than TD's and a QB rating in the 70's was considered outstanding. These says you have to have a QB rating of 90+ to be considered a high quality QB. During his era Unitas was extremely dominant and the guy revolutionized the position of QB.

Sorry about that. I don't know where the 1-3 came from, I was thinking 1-2.

I would definitely rank Manning above Marino.
