CBS is changing up the The NFL Today, firing Shannon Sharpe and Dan Marino and bringing in Tony Gonzalez. CBS has been getting killed by Fox in pregame ratings so it was expected that they would make some major changes. They tried to hire Cris Carter but he ended up signing a contract extension with ESPN. It was rumored Gonzalez would have preferred to join Fox NFL Sunday because they broadcast out of LA, which is where Gonzalez lives, but Fox wasn't interested in changing up their lineup since they are already doing so well in the ratings.

There is now footage of what appears to be Ray Rice dragging his unconscious fiancee out of an elevator at an Atlantic City hotel lobby. This seems to backup the story from witnesses that Rice knocked her out.

Redskins tight end Fred Davis, who is due to be a free agent next month, has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL. This most likely due to a violation of the league's substance abuse policy, as Davis was suspended in 2011 for a violation. Davis has a ton of talent and could have been a very good player but it looks like he's chosen his love of weed over a lucrative football career.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-indefinitely/ Edit: Davis says the failed test had nothing to do with weed and that he supplement that contained a banned substance he didn't know about. Since the NFL doesn't comment on what suspensions are for it's impossible to know if that's the truth. Last edited by fatediesel; 02-19-2014 at 09:33 PM. |
