So thankfully Arizona ended up doing the right thing with the Governor vetoing the pro-discrimination bill. Turns out the NFL was preparing to move next year's Super Bowl out of Arizona had it been signed into law. This is nothing new for Arizona. The state did lose the 1993 Super Bowl when it decided not to recognize MLK Day.

People make fun of the "South", but I'm pretty sure Arizona is now the most backwards state out there.

And here's a neat story for the Ravens:

Quote:
Elam, a first-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2013 draft, is spending his offseason as a part-time sales associate at a Finish Line store in Gainesville, Fla., before he returns to the team in April. He says he works about 20 hours per week, helping customers with shoes and occasionally stocking shelves.

His goal is to open his own sports merchandise store.

"I just need to get retail knowledge," Elam told the team's website. "That's basically what I'm doing. I'm getting that knowledge for when it's time."

Elam applied online to five stores before being hired at Finish Line a month ago, raising eyebrows considering he made $3.7 million last season (salary and signing bonus) as the 32nd pick in the draft.

"Everybody was surprised when I started," said Elam, who isn't sure how much he makes per hour. "They were like, 'Why? You got enough money.' But it's not about the money. It's just me building."

The mall is a few miles from the University of Florida, where Elam was a first-team All-American. Fans often recognize him at the store and ask to take pictures, which have circulated on social media.

"People will be buying stuff just for me to sign it," he said. "It's pretty exciting."

As a rookie, Elam was fourth on the Ravens with 76 tackles. He had one interception and two fumble recoveries.

Elam was also the only player in last year's draft to sign his deal without an agent. Instead he did his research and talked to advisers, and saved himself over $200,000 in agent fees. Since rookie contracts in the new CBA are set there's really no reason to have an agent when for a lot less money you could just pay an attorney by the hour to review the deal, but virtually every player still pays an agent as much as 3% to do something they could do on their own.

So there were reports early today that someone beat the crap out of Richie Incognito' $300k Ferrari. Turns out it was true. But according to police Incognito admits to doing it himself.

Yeah it will be really cool to see the Bills play in Canton and see Marv Levy introduce Andre Reed into the Hall of Fame.

In other words, somebody else did it but he doesn't want to get them in trouble for whatever reason.

I don't know... the guy has had serious rage problems in the past. Wouldn't surprise me if he lost his mind and fought a stranger in the Alps.

Hernandez just needs to be executed. And I'm sick of lethal injection. Too costly. Just shoot the dude in the face.

This goes for all useless thugs in the world. Kill 'em all.

Massachusetts does not have death penalty. Most likely he will get 25 to life.

Yes, with Hernandez it's a state issue and capital punishment is unpopular and abolished in just about the entire northeast.

In case anyone was wondering about why the Boston Marathon Bomber is facing the death penalty for crimes committed in Massachusetts it's because he committed federal crimes and will be tried in federal court.

It sounds like they have a LOT of physical circumstancial evidence. Eyewitness testimony is the most overrated type of evidence when it comes to crimes, so the lack of one isn't of much concern. Eyewitnesses are wrong all the time. From everything I've read about the case there's more than enough physical evidence. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get convicted of at least one of the killings. A great defense team can do a lot for a defendent, but it can't pull off a miracle. Hernandez needs a miracle.

I hope they do...but this state will most likely screw it up somehow. We all know how something can get screwed up like the OJ trial..

MIA already shopping Dion Jordan...that was fast...

Quote:
A year after trading up to get Dion Jordan with the third overall pick in the draft, the Dolphins have begun shopping him to other clubs, league sources said. Miami has talked to other teams already to gauge Jordan's trade value.

Numerous league sources, including executives from other teams, say the Dolphins might also be open to dealing receiver Mike Wallace and pass-rushing ace Cam Wake. That perception has only grown through the course of this week, through conversations with numerous decision-makers from other clubs, as Miami looks to retool its roster under a new regime.
100% worth it now to move up to #3 last year. We all know the Wallace signing was a complete joke of a contract...but this shows just what they think of Jordan as a player.

Source? I've said all along they overpaid for Wallace, but would be surprised to see they give up on either player at this point.

Well they are giving up on Jordan after 1 year from the sound of it. Anyone that watched wallace play knew the contract was horrific. Maybe they lost the tape on him?

I can't see the Dolphins trading Jordan or Wallace because of the massive cap hits they'd take. Since over half of Jordan's total contract was a signing bonus the cap hit would be roughly $10 million, and the cap hit if they traded Wallace would be over $9 million.

In addition I can't see anyone willing to take Wallace's contract. He's due a $15 million base salary this year that is fully guaranteed and $3 million of his 2015 salary is guaranteed. That is way too much considering Wallace's mediocre 2013 and poor attitude.

Weren't you trumpeting the great Dion Jordan just a little while ago? Vernon Gholston bust, but worse because you traded up to pick him at 3.
