Revis is not one to leave money on the table. He is a mercenary and will go to whoever will pay him the most. Probably the Browns...
Just becasue he gets injured doesn't mean i don't want to sign him/have they try to get him back..if it was a good deal for the team $$ of course i would welcome him back. Not for that stupid $$

Talib signed in a state with legal pot...uh oh

Patriots in a strong position to land Revis now, especially after Talib's deal. Revis wants to be there. Will only take a 5th round pick
We will see what happens i guess

He will be cut. He's repeatedly said that he won't restructure his contract to facilitate a trade, and I highly doubt that the Pats would trade a 5th for him and keep the 16 million cap hit.

Raiders overpay for a RT in Austin Howard. 6 million per year for 5 years w/ 15 guaranteed . They paid top money for an average RT.

Huh? Don't "lol" me like I just made some idiotic statement.

When I said build through the draft I was speaking more in general than one single draft. But that statement applies to the Rams situation very well. In case you've been under rock, the Rams have had quite a plethora of draft picks they've received from the RGIII trade. They've used these selections to select guys like Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, etc. They've also got two first round picks this year including the number two overall pick. So building their team via the draft might not be a bad idea. These past two years in free agency we've spent big on Cortland Finnegan and Jared Cook and they've yet to pay off. Since we're setting pretty in the draft I have no problems with them being quiet in free agency and focusing more on the draft.

Sorry for writing such a long post. You must have misunderstood me or something, brosef.

Touching more on building through the draft, let's take the super bowl winning Seahawks for example. Look at basically all of their starters and key players. They were drafted, not a free agent signing. The beauty of that too is they're still on their rookie deals not getting paid mind boggling amounts of money. While a big free agent signing would. When you can hit on your draft picks like they have winning a super bowl is what happens. It's a good thing they won their super bowl because soon guys like Sherman, Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas are gonna get paid and they're going to have to let go of guys they'd otherwise like to keep.

Wondered how #Saints could fit Jairus Byrd into their cap. With an $11M signing bonus over 5 years, cap hit should be around $4M in year 1

most of the moves today made sense to me, maybe not financially, but they made sense football wise

but I dunno what these 49ers trades mean

gabbert and jonathan martin

maybe the coach/front office rift is overblown

Decker will be visiting the Jets today. I would be thrilled if we signed him. 4-5 years at 7-8 per year and front loaded would be a good signing.

I just want to pay the guys who have been playing well for us, losing our LT Valdheer only to over pay someone else? Losing our best DT Houston, why? Losing our lead rusher Jennings, only to sign an injury prone McFadden?

Makes no sense as to what the Raiders are doing right now, I've been patient for over 12 years, its getting old
All of the above... WTH is McKenzie doing?

Apparently the offer they made to Veldheer was insulting.

If you signed Decker for that you would be overpaying, Decker was a product of Peyton being able to spread the ball and the defense. Smart teams realize that, hes worth maybe 4.5-5 mill per Season.

Is he a product of the system? I'm not so sure. He performed well when zombie Tebow was throwing him the ball, and that was year 2 I believe. He definitely was man handled by the Seahawks in that game, but who wasn't? If you front load the contract, it would be smart for us because we have a ton of cap space, and we aren't going to use it all, and when he's into year 3/4 you're getting cap relief and paying the guy at market value. Plus we're going to have to overpay slightly to get offensive talent. I don't think we can solve all our woes through the draft. We need a good vet to pair with a good rookie WR to make this somewhat of a viable offense.

You're crazy if you pay him that much. Decker is not a #1 receiver. He is a solid #2 guy, but his numbers are going to decrease significantly without Peyton.

At 7 million per year he would be the 19th highest paid receiver just above Brian Hartline . As I said, we will have to overpay for offensive talent. If we front load the contract in the first 2 years, it's not that bad of a deal. I'd take him over Amendola, Hartline, Crabtree, Wayne, and Stevie Johnson. Sorry man that's what the market is. It's not like I said to give him Mike Wallace money...

Hell Mike Williams of the Bucs makes nearly 8 million per year. Greg Jennings makes 9.

No interest in Nicks? If he can stay healthy, he is a true #1 receiver.
