Vikings signed CB Captain Munnerlyn to a three-year contract with a max value of $15 million.
Munnerlyn is obviously stretched outside at 5-foot-8 and 195 pounds, but he's one of the best slot corners in the game. Still only 26 -- he turns next month -- Munnerlyn turned in a breakout 2013 campaign as a 16-game starter, setting career highs in tackles (74), sacks (3.5), and pass breakups (12). He has four pick sixes over the past two seasons. Look for Munnerlyn to start outside on early downs and cover the slot in Mike Zimmer's nickel package.

Vikings ramping up that defense for Mike Zimmer.

We resigned Scott Chandler this afternoon. We still need to draft a TE, but at least we won't be desperate for one now. Chandler has really soft hands, but he's slow as shit. He's a very strong blocker though.

He's not bad. Resigning a guy familiar with your offense who can contribute is not the worst thing. How do you feel losing Byrd and replacing him? I'm glad to see him gone. He constantly gave us headaches.

We gave Byrd a very lucrative offer, we weren't going to pay $54 million for a safety. I'm glad we didn't go higher than we did, we have to resign Dareus and Spiller after this season. I'd rank them more important than Byrd. We have a young safety on our roster that we are very high on, Duke Williams. I imagine we will also either be resigning Jim Leonard or draft one relatively early. Regardless, we resigned Aaron Williams to a longterm deal, and I think he has a higher ceiling than Byrd.

I can't believe DRC turned down a 6 years 54 mill contract from Denver. What a moron if those #s are right...

I would pump the brakes on that one...at least until we see him do what Byrd does. He's the best.

Byrd is an elite safety, but I don't know if I would call him the best in the NFL. He's played in a really bad secondary most of his career, so it made him stand out. And I absolutely do think Aaron Williams will end up being just as good if not better. He struggled as a corner, but he's a natural at safety. Pettine knew what he was doing. His instincts are outstanding.

We need a good draft, BAD...

Raiders sign LB Lamar Woodley to a 2 year $12M Deal, another decent one by Oakland, things are looking better after that whole Saffold fiasco

Contract details for Decker were released. 15 million guaranteed over the first two years essentially making it a 2 year contract. If he proves his worth then you keep him, but if he fails to meet expectations, you cut him and it doesn't kill your cap. Love it! Idzik is so much better than Tanny. Tanny would have given him 10 per year with 30 million gtd.

Bet $50 Aaron Williams won't end up better then Byrd? But who knows if we will be around here in whatever years

I am very confident his ceiling is just as high as Byrd's if not higher. The kid is special.

As a Jets fan I love this deal. Everybody is talking about if he's a number one or a number two WR. The only thing that matters to me is that he's better than any of the guys we have and he improves the offence.

I like Geno, and I'm rooting for him to take a step forward in year two.

I always found it funny that Tannenbaum was the cap guy before he became GM. He never seemed to have the foggiest idea of how the cap worked.

Any one else find it odd that we are already into free agency signing and there has only been one player arrested? Have the owners of the teams finally started putting low jacks on their players?

Im reading now excuse me while I go kill myself, what the bloody **** is this front office thinking my god. My only hope now is this years draft is total 100% defense.

Brandon Spikes is in Buffalo today meeting with us. If we can get him for the right price, he would be a nice addition. Spikes isn't an every down player, but he is very strong against the run. He would also bring some attitude and toughness to our defense which Schwartz seems to admire.
