So yeah after sleeping on the Lions pick this year no matter how good people say this guy is, I still cant get behind it. Lions ignored a glaring hole on defense that could have been addressed very easily with a top 5 corner. The problem is this is not the first year they have done this, aside from Suh the Lions really have not drafted a top 5 stud that will shore up that defense.

I'd go with the Rams. They landed Greg Robinson and Aaron Donald. Both extremely strong picks.

They're banking on outscoring everyone. I know TE wasn't a huge need for you guys, but Ebron is a very productive player. He'll drop some balls, but he's going to give Stafford another strong weapon.

The problem is tho that the Lions were scoring aside from that crazy snow game in Philly and the game they lost 9-22 to Green Bay the Lions lost every game by 1-5 points

There last 4 losses are indicative of a team that needed defense not offense.

Losing 13-14 to Minny last game of the year, the OT loss to the Giants 20-23, and the loss to the Ravens on Monday night 16-18 when there kicker made that crazy 60 yard FG. The Loss to Tampa 21-24 on Nov 8 same issue no defense. Bengals same thing Lions got burned by AJ green due to no DB, that was a loss 24-27.

Scoring was not the Lions issue it was defense.

I agree with you, I'm just saying the mentality of Detroit's front office with that pick was to make their offense even stronger. They feel Ebron adds another wrinkle to that offense, and he certainly does. But what is more important to the guys in charge? A seam stretching TE or a very fundamentally strong CB? I think we had our answer last night.

And that's the problem with the Lions and why they have only won 1 playoff game in 50 years.

They put 32 million into a WR this offseason in Golden Tate to go opposite of Calvin which I have no problem with as it addressed our WR core.

But when you have Fouria who could catch very well when given the opportunity, why reinvest 16 million in Brandon "Stone Hands" Pettigrew only to turn around and blow the number 10 overall pick on another tight end. Looking at the needs I would have given Fouria the chance this year. The guy has proven he can catch, and between Fouria, Bush, Calvin and Tate after getting a CB in round 1 then you go for maybe a WR in round 2 someone like a Wes Welker type that can play the slot. Or you toss Fouria in the slot and have Pettigrew out there as well running a true 2 TE set and you do the unthinkable you shore up the defense.

The Seahawks proved that this year it does not matter how much offense you have. Every day a great defense is going to beat a power offense.

The rest of league got the message as a record 9 defensive backs were drafted in the first round. Lions LOL.

I can't wait to see what Johnny football can do in cleveland. I was very upset when they picked wheeden but since he was a brown I had to support him. It was hard lol. I didn't like the idea of taking Johnny at 4 or 9 bit am thrilled to have him at 22. Love the pick of Gilbert. Even with Haden, corner has been a huge hole on the team for years. Not a sexy pick but I think it's the right pick.

Passing on Watkins might come back to haunt us but Gordon is one of the best (if not the best) receivers in the league. I don't hope for the bills to lose a lot next year but I see it being another top 15 pick easily.

Exactly Tony as the definition of insanity is to continue doing the same thing expecting the same results over and over again. The Lions have been trying this shit since 2001/2002, I was a firm believer when Mayhew was promoted based on the leaked boards showing who we may have had if Millen had not pulled rank and drafted who he wanted. But at this point I'm starting to think its time to blow the entire front office up including the coaching staff. I'm sure Caldwell is a great guy, I'm sure the others he brought in may make a difference but enough is enough. We all know the Lions settled for Caldwell when the coaches they really wanted took other jobs. Seriously Detroit blow this shit up and build the team right.

Not going to happen. We should be a really, really good football team next year. I'm surprised you guys took that deal to be honest. Watkins is arguably the best WR prospect since Megatron. It was a fair deal to both teams on paper, but Watkins isn't the type of talent you want to pass on.

I was hoping Kelvin Benjamin would drop one more spot to the Patriots. Receiver isn't a huge need for the Patriots but they don't have a huge threat like Benjamin.

Dominique Easley is a high risk/high reward pick for the Pats. He's coming off a right ACL tear and also tore his left ACL in 2011. However, the ACL tear came early enough last year that he should be fine by training camp.

Receiver is a HUGE issue for the Pats, who is Brady throwing to this year as he did not look comfortable at all last year with his receiver core until Gronk came back.

And honestly the Pats are the one team I wouldn't worry about in the draftroom, they always seem to get that shit right.

I'm glad I made it to the end this time. Overall, I'm pretty happy about what happened. I would've preferred Mosley over Barr, but trading back up to get Bridgewater was a good move.

Vikings have 2 3rd's, 2 5th's, a 6th, and a 7th. Still need S, CB, OG, ILB, and backup RB...the rebuilding continues. Should be pretty good around the time AP retires

Vikings struck gold yesterday, Bridgewater in my opinion was the best NFL ready QB in the draft. Hes the only one that would throw 15+ yard fades and out routes to his receivers in college on a consistent basis. What is the NFL inside 2 minutes outroutes, whats the most popular redzone pass the fade. Ponder was a mistake years ago we all knew it, but this time I think the Vikings have it right. Lets be REAL BARR is going to replace Allen well, you still have holes fill and you can fill em in rounds 3 and get a steal in the 6th or 7th and they have one of the best drafts this year.

Next year go D and WR and boom your golden.

I mean lets also be real its not as if the Lions defense will stop you. unless they plan on converting TE and WR

Yeah, both ESPN and NFL Network's ratings were up roughly 50% over last year. Part of that can certainly be attributed to last year's lack of star power and this year's Johnny Manziel free fall, but it's still unlikely they'll be moving the draft back to April anytime soon with those ratings.

It's impossible to say for sure that the bills are going to win alot of games next year. They haven't won more then 7 games in 9 years. Finished 6 and 10 the last 3 years. That would be like me saying there is no way they browns aren't going to have a winning record this year. Based on recent history you would say I'm losing it lol.

The bills have a lot of good pieces but much like the browns they are going to need to figure out how to put it all together and win before anyone can say they are good. A top 15 pick in next years draft is definitely a realistic possibility.

It's a good deal for both teams. We got a corner we desperately needed and you got a potentially elite wide receiver. If we didn't already have Gordon I would agree that passing on Watkins was a huge mistake. But having a bunch of good to great receivers does not make a team elite (ask lions fans). Yes Watkins is the sexy pick. explosive wideout. But corner is no less important. It was he right move for both teams.

Yes the browns still need a receiver but this draft is deep at receiver and we will still pick up a good prospect hopefully in the 2nd round.

St. Louis fans and Cleveland fans should both be happy. The Rams ended up with two projected top 7 guys and the Browns ended up with two first rounders and now have two first rounders in 2015.

I'm just waiting for Mack to sign his deal so I can buy my 1 year old his first Raiders jersey.

ESPN got a 6.8 rating & NFLN 1.9.

ESPN is in about 98 million homes & NFLN 72 million but im surprised ESPN still wins by that much....i enjoy NFLN draft coverage more.
