CBS Sports Jason La Canfora says Jimmy Graham's contract is only a two-year deal:

Quote:
A league source tells CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora that Graham's deal is for two years and is worth a maximum of $21 million. He'll get $13 million in Year 1, allows him to avoid the franchise tag for 2015, and gives him the flexibility to hit the open market while still in his prime.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...black-and-gold

Edit: It's definitely a four-year contract, not sure why CBS Sports is still saying it's a two-year deal. He received a $12 million signing bonus and a guaranteed $1 million base salary in 2014, so the true guarantee is $13 million. His $7.9 million base salary and $100,000 workout bonus for 2015 are guaranteed for injury only, but in reality those are guaranteed as well because the money becomes guaranteed if he's still on the team by the third day after the 2015 Super Bowl and if they cut him before then they would have to take a $9 million cap hit on their 2014 cap, and there's no way they would have the remaining cap space for that hit. In 2016 he's due an $8.9 million base salary and $100,000 workout bonus, and in 2017 he's due a $7.9 million salary, a $100,000 workout bonus, and $2 million roster bonus.

Another boo-boo by La Canfora, he's wrong 4 times out of 5...

Either he has bad sources or he's making stuff up, anyway he's been irrelevant since he left NFL Network.

The odd thing is CBS Sports still has the story up that it's a 2-year deal even though it's clearly a 4-year deal. You would think one of the biggest sports sites would eventually correct the story when it's clearly wrong.

Edit: CBS finally updated their story with the correct numbers at roughly 11:00 ET this morning, more than a day after the correct numbers were first reported.

The Saints are going to have some major cap problems in 2015. Brees has a $26.4 million cap hit, Graham has an $11 million hit, Jahri Evans has an $11 million hit, Byrd has a $10.3 million hit, Marques Colston has a $9.7 million hit, Ben Grubbs has a $9.6 million hit, and Curtis Lofton has a $9 million hit. All those players would have dead money of at least $5 million if they were cut, so the Saints are going to have to restructure a lot of contracts, which will just create more future cap problems. The Saints total payroll for 2015 right now is over $152 million, and the 2015 cap will probably be around $140 million.

Looks like you will be able to stream sunday ticket without a satellite:

Dont know if theres any exceptions.

https://nflst.directv.com/DTVAPP/nflws/index.jsp

Streaming always seems like its more hassle then its worth though.

This is a good start. There's no way I'm paying $200 to watch it on my phone, but if I had a PS3/4, I would seriously consider paying $240.

Hopefully this will be a big hit and will lead to more viewing options.

There seems to be confusion on if you can get directv (no line of sight issues, apartment ok with it etc) then you are ineligable for this plan....kinda like how the plan worked that they had i think 2 yrs back.

Guess till the details are in we dont know.

Why is the console more expensive than the laptop/ipad?

Is this season the last season for Directv's exclusivity of the NFL Sunday Ticket? As a current Directv subscriber, I have to wonder if they can even survive without it?

When the deal gets renewed DirecTV has been sold to AT&T which means there is a very good chance it shows up on Uverse as well.

Ah good point! I forgot about AT&T making that little purchase there.
I just seem to recall reading a story about other "big boys" stepping in to bid: Yahoo, Microsoft, Netflix & Google just to name a few. I'm just surprised more hasn't been written about it...as least from the usual assortment of places I read. I guess as the season progresses?

I wish Verizon would man up and buy rights to NFL Sunday Ticket. I can't get DirecTV because of the way the trees are positioned around my house. I have to go to a sports bar to watch my Bills. Luckily though, there is a Bills Backers chapter in my area. We fill the whole place up!

I would prefer to watch in the comforts of my own home though, I am a very boisterous fan.
