Per Adam Schefter Ray Rice is going to be suspended for the first 2 games of the season. This is about what was expected and could have easily been longer but it will still hurt the Ravens with their first two games against division opponents Pittsburgh and Cincinnati (both at home).

Extending White is a no brainer especially if Julio is healthy and can take over the number 1 WR duties and White can fall back to number 2 to help stretch the field. Its just the amount of money and the time, I guess if the cap hit is only 3 million or something then it would be a great deal. Probably going to have to wait on Falcons fans to give us the ful details of the extension as well I cant really be bothered to go look up the full details lol.

Oh really? Haven't heard anything about Blackmon since the only Jags headline right now is regarding the other WR Ace Sanders. Anyway, I think just about everyone in our city moved on from Blackmon. Had the potential to be the next Jimmy Smith and he could of just followed him by doing drugs AFTER his NFL career.

There's really no reason to cut Blackmon unless it's for PR reasons. It's not like they have to pay him while he's suspended. Cutting him could also make it harder to get back money previously paid, although I don't know if there's any money left they can get back since they were able to get out of guaranteed money due to his previous suspension. Maybe this arrest will be enough to get the Jags to cut him though since it's becoming increasingly likely Blackmon will never play another game.

Yes! That's the reason why we haven't cut him. Like you said, this will probably push the Jags to finally get rid of him......another failed 1st Round pick. I wouldn't say he's a flop, but more of a troubled person with the law outside of the field which kept him away from being a well known WR.

This is why the league needs to really start cracking down on off-the-field trouble. There is so much talent out there, that doesn't even reach the playing field.

Blackmon, like Josh Gordon, has proven he won't ever change.

It's time to throw the book at these guys, as 2 or 4 game suspensions, clearly, have not sent the message home.
I don't see how the NFL/Players Union can't agree on this, as it's going to damage the product in the long run. It's almost become a joke!

It's very simple:

1) First offense: 8 game ban
2) Second offense: 16 game ban(to include playoffs if applicable)
3) Third offense: NFL ban, forfeiture of draft pick(s)

It's the only way both the teams and the players are finally going to realize, that there are billions of dollars at stake here, and only the top 1% really make it in the league. There's a very long line of people that can fill the shoes of those kicked out of the league.

LOOL WELL I explain think of a few reasons the Players union wouldn't agree to that. As I have said before its all about the Benjamins baby! NFL is the most hypocritical organization out there.

How about a poll on which top 10 rookie will have the most impact on his team, or even which rookie will provide the most impact for his team.

Smoke a joint and get a year-long suspension.

Does anyone else see something wrong with this picture? (And, no, I am not defending Gordon's actions. He should be suspended for violating league rules (multiple times). But, the punishments need to be proportional to the severity of the offenses).

Haha, that's too obvious. We all know Cleveland will demand that Johnny takes over the starting job over Hoyer. Then again I can see Carr starting before Johnny and Bortles.

Ravens CB Aaron Ross tore his Achilles during the conditioning test and is out for the season. Ross wasn't a lock to make the Ravens and was signed mainly for depth so it won't be a huge loss.
