The YAC 5 yard rule has been in place for years the refs just have not been calling it as much as they should have. Now the NFL is enforcing it as they should have been for the better part of the past 10 years.

86 accepted penalties in last night's 4 games. So over 100 were probably thrown. It made the pats games almost unwatchable..first Q was 55 min..

It would take a lot for me to stop watching football. But if every game became this...

They're trying to prevent 20 minute breaks in the game so they can fix the goal posts.... like they had to do twice last year when he knocked the goal posts crooked.

Yea, I understand the reasoning behind it, but you guys had a HoF TE who did the same thing. It was his signature. Surely you wouldn't have wanted Gonzo's dunks to be banned, right?

If a player's dunk messes up the goal post, the goal post needs to be stronger.

Or just stop him from doing it in the first place. Or make a rule that if you do it and it causes the game to be stopped that the palyer be ejected from the game. I don't recall it being a problem with Gonzo doing it, but there is an obvious risk when Jimmy does it. I would have no issue otherwise.

You can't have players damaging goal posts and delaying games. This was a necessary rule change. With the up rights being raised this season, the stability is not going to be as strong as they were in years past. Having a beast of a man like Graham dunking a ball over the cross bar is not a good thing for the structure of it.

I said after the first 49ers preseason game that they need a better backup quarterback than Blaine Gabbert, and last night made that even clearer. Gabbert does not belong in the NFL, and definitely shouldn't be an injury away from being the starter for a potential Super Bowl contender.
