Locker, on the other hand, should stay on the bench. He's had all the time in the world to get it right and he hasn't.

I don't think you understand how inaccurate EJ has been the last two games. He is the first quarterback since Brady Quinn to have a QBR under 10.0 in consecutive starts. He simply isn't ready yet to be an NFL starter. We're damn lucky we signed Orton. He's one of the more reliable backup quarterbacks in this league. Last year we had to roll with Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel after Manuel's knee injury.

Everyone here knows I have always liked EJ a lot. But frankly, he really screwed the pooch yesterday. Orton gives us a much better chance to win football games right now. With all the talent we have all Orton has to do is manage the game. He doesn't have to be Superman with the players on our roster.

He was hit 16 times yesterday. How was he supposed to have enough time to be accurate?

And I was at the game yesterday so I know he made some bad throws but what young QB isn't with that that kind of pressure. I just think it is too soon to give up on him.

And what about the Chargers game? He wasn't hit nearly as much in that game and was still wildly inaccurate. He needs more time to develop. Look at the body language of Watkins and Woods. It was very telling.
